Hello all, just after some advice or wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience.

I thought I was nearly 7 weeks pregnant based on last period. I have had some spotting so was referred to EPU for blood tests and an early scan. HCG increased well but I have had the scan today and she dated me between 4-5 weeks and said she couldn't yet see anything in the sac 😔

Just wondered if anyone else has had a similar experience? Either positive or negative. I have to go back for another scan in a week so just wondering what expect.

I had a similar experience except I was later along, around 11 weeks. I had a tiny amount of spotting, was referred for a scan and they said the baby was about 5 weeks. Sadly it was a missed miscarriage. I had to go back a week later to make sure the baby hadn't grown so they could legally confirm the miscarriage and offer me management for it. I opted for an ERPC a few days later.

Sorry I don't want to tell you a doom and gloom story. I really hope that you just ovulated late and all is ok.

Yes this has happened to me. It's called a blighted ovum, a second scan in 7-10 days will confirm.
Have to say though that there are plenty of people who have had similar but their pregnancies have progressed ok.

Sorry to hear that doublechocolatetiffin Flowers

OP I had bleeding at the same point as you. First scan showed an empty sac. I was just not as far along as I thought. Touch wood all was ok for me and will be for you xx

Manctart I'm in a similar position but went back for my second scan today two weeks later and it's still not conclusive, so prepare yourself for that!

I've got to go back again in a fortnight but wondering whether to try to get a scan via the dr instead / as well since this was just a private one so if it is bad news I'll still have to go through the NHS to deal with it, I guess.

Hope you get a good outcome

Yes I've had this, a blighted ovum where basically your body thinks it is pregnant but the fetal pole doesn't develop. I was scanned at 7 weeks and there was just a small sac.

I was sure of my dates and had got a positive test 3 weeks before so there was no way I was less than 5 weeks pregnant. I was scanned 2 weeks later and there was no change so had an Erpc.

That was my second miscarriage but I got pregnant the month after and now have my DD.

Sorry you are in this limbo now Flowers

Thanks for your replies Fimble and Echo. I'm just trying not to think about it too much. I got a BFP two weeks ago today but I'm pretty sure on my dates so I'm not really too hopeful. I hope they find something next week this limbo is the worst part, would rather know either way!

I know, I can cope with the bad news, it's the waiting and uncertainty that's upsetting me.

Hello ladies just thought I would update and also see how you are getting on Fimble? I really hope you have had some positive news 🤞🏻

I had another scan yesterday and it seems like I just had my dates wrong as the sonographer said all looks fine and there was a tiny fluttering heartbeat. It was a massive relief but already worrying about what the next 6 weeks (and months!!) will hold for fx everything still goes well!

Hello not good news for me, I had a scan at the EPU today and still empty and measuring 6 weeks so looks pretty hopeless.

I have to go back next Thursday to confirm and then decide how best to manage things.

Really pleased to hear your news, hoe all continues to go well
