Anyone lose weight during pregnancy (without excessive vomiting/HG)

Just that really. Is it ok? I have a high BMI anyway and was surprised nobody has weighed me since the 12 week scan (I assumed it would be monitored along with blood sugar etc). I am now 32 weeks, finally weighed myself just out of interest and am half a stone lighter than back then, despite having a huge bump etc. I guess it's ok as I was too big to start with?

I suffered with HG for ages but have it under control now (vomit free for the last 12 weeks now) and have still lost weight from the foods I've been eating. I've only ever been weighed because of the sickness and to double check if I needed to do the GTT or not (thankfully I didn't) but I wouldn't say it a bad thing if you've lost some weight if you know you could do so healthily. If you were underweight or in the 'best' bmi brackets it might be bad...
My BMI is 29.9 btw so I'm also glad to have lost some weight. If midwife hasn't been worried I'd say you're all good.

I lost weight in the first trimester. My BMI was 23 to start with but went down. I know for a fact it's because I stopped drinking wine when I got pregnant! I used to drink up to a couple of glasses of red a day. Cut that out and weight dropped despite pregnancy. I'm finally above my pre pregnant weight now and growing! Don't worry about it.

Hi I lost weight on all 4 of my pregnancies normally 1 stone in the first 12 weeks and then another stone after delivery. On my 3rd pregnancy (boy) I lost 4 stone when pregnant due to anxiety after 3 miscarriages. I had 2 girls first then the miscarriages so I convinced myself I couldn't carry boys so when I found out boy at 16 weeks my anxiety went through the roof.
But even though I looked dreadful and was feeling really bad the hospital didn't care they never even weighed me after the booking appointment. I told them I had lost 4 stone and they just ignored it.

Yes I was super slim apart from bump (not normally big but got much slimmer) - also put it down to lack of booze! Grin

Thank you all I'm glad it's not just me. I haven't actually told the MW/consultant yet as the focus has all been on my very recent GD diagnosis and blood sugar diary etc. I also didn't want to sound silly bringing it up Blush

I didn't drink anyway really, I did give up most fizzy drinks at new year (conceived early spring) and just doing that made a huge difference (which I didn't realise until I was weighed at booking in, I had lost over 1.5st literally changing nothing else - I wasn't drinking shitloads but I think it was the knock on effect of fewer sugar crashes making me hungrier etc). I was just really surprised last week as I was convinced I would've put all that back on plus more.

I had epic nausea this time (never been sick in pregnancy luckily) and couldn't eat much but I had been making up for lost time since! Last few weeks especially I have been ravenous. I have only started being careful this last week due to the GD (reduced carbs and increased protein and good fat)

I'm so sorry about the miscarriages benby Thanks
