Does anyone have any suggestions on where to buy some nice maternity jeans/tops?
Everywhere I look seems to sell really frumpy stuff!

Seraphine for dresses and jeans. On early stages under the bump are best and great for post partum too.

Otherwise ASOS are good too and certainly cheaper. Also try h&m and next. Most only do maternity ranges online these days.

I got some nice bits from Dorothy Perkins online, and they had a sale on at the time so it was really reasonable.

Unfortunately not many stores stock the maternity clothes but you can return for free. Good luck!

Hi I got my maternity jeans and tops from H&M and some tshirts from peacocks. Went to JoJo for work clothes although found their dresses to be quite long but I'm only 5'3 Smile

H+M is good, and if you order online they do a "pay next month" thingymajig so you can send anything back that doesn't fit before paying.

I love Asos. I order loads of sizes and return what doesn't fit.

Ladies who recommend seraphine can I ask what your pre pregnancy size was? Their clothes look gorgeous online. But I've ordered them home and been to their London stores and absolutely everything looks horrendous on my size 12-14 pregnant frame. The last time I looked for a winter coat in size 14, and it barely fit on me at 5.5mos pregnant. The lady helpfully suggested going up to size 16 or 18 to get it to fit through pregnancy but if I wanted such an illfitting hanging off my shoulders coat surely I wouldn't spend upwards of £150 on it?? Are they just meant for slimmer women?

I really rate Amazon for mat+nursing stuff.

H&M has the best softest jeans. I certainly found them the most comfortable of all. For beer quality leggings - M&S as the H&M ones were a bit flimsy.

Asos has a great range of maternity tops. If I were to offer a word of advice it would be that you get some dual function ones so maternity/nursing tops. What surprised me when I gave birth was the a lot of my maternity stuff was almost immediately useless as I was BFing and lovely tight tops I was wearing in pregnancy were no longer practical so I had additional cost of buying nursing tops. If I were doing it again I'd definitely get some draped tops that could be used post partum too. The overlay ones are particularly practical and look good.

Ps. For smart work shirts I actually found the maternity shirts quite badly made so used to get stuff in Cos as their trademark oversized stuff was actually pregnancy friendly while being stylish.

I attempted Isabella Oliver but I found their stuff Eye wateringly expensive for what it was and returned all my purchases. Looks better online than it is IRL.

Seraphine was great for bamboo pyjamas. Rest of their stuff did not suit me.

Top shop jeans meant to be amazing? New look stuff is nice and reasonable too, not sure if there was mentioned. Penneys here (primark in the U.K.) bringing out maternity range. They'd jeans a few months ago, I really rate them!! Mothercare have a "blooming marvellous" range (have nursing tops but they do maternity top).

@bisquick I was a size 16 in dresses pre pregnancy but bough all my.swraphine dresses in an 18 and they fit really well. Didn't buy a coat there. I did get a great deal on a swing coat from Jojo but even a size 20 was tight across the bust and I ended up moving the buttons to get it to fit right. Luckily my usual winter coats fit me through the worst of the winter weather.

The thing j liked.most about their dresses is they grew with me; so looked great at 25 weeks and not too frumpy but also nice at 38 weeks when my bump filled them.

Got a few stretchy tunic type things from Mothercare which I wore with
Leggings.

Next maternity leggings dont have a seam down the middle at the front so were ideal for wearing under dresses without that ugly seam showing through and leaving a mark on your bump

Topshop jeans. Was so pleased their maternity range goes up to 18 so I could wear their jeans again. I got a couple of nice work dresses from Seraphine via eBay (didn't have the same sizing problem as others PPs, I got my normal size which is 18 and they were fine. Haven't tried any trousers or tailored stuff from there though). Pretty much everything else has been from ASOS.

I found an online catalogue/ site called BonPrix (never heard of them before) who have a nice maternity range in a huge range of sizes (from 6 to 28+). Quality is nice too!

Vertbaudet for trousers and jeans. Tops I've just bought 2-3 sizes bigger than normal of long fitting tops and they work well, I found a lot of the cheaper maternity tops crap quality. Extra big tops with a shirt undone over the top.

I got a couple of pairs of under bump jeans from Matalan, I was quite pleased with their maternity stuff, good basics and not too frumpy. Why do so many clothing designers think that as soon as a woman gets pregnant all she wants to wear is tshirts announcing her pregnancy, or flowery tents?
