Yup - me too! 40+4 here (day my contractions started with DC1 although they didn't actually arrive until 41wks exactly) Have a sweep booked for later today. Had some braxton hicks yesterday lunchtime but nothing since.

Back from my MW appt. Cervix not favourable, so she couldn't perform a sweep. Booked in for a pessary induction next Tuesday if nothing happens before Sad

How overdue are you Laura? I'm 40+4 and will be 41+5 by the induction date...

Report
Laurad04 · 18/09/2017 20:04

oh sorry to hear that. I hope you start naturally before your induction. My sweep today was as good as my consultant could do because my cervix is high. I am only 40+1 today.. my induction is so soon, because i was diagnosed with SVT nothing serious but it has been quite rough to handle through pregnancy so they dont want me going too far over due date. x

I think I put my emoji in the wrong place! I was sad that the sweep wasn't possible and cervix isn't looking like birth is imminent, but quiet pleased to have the date for the induction booked in (and as I am low risk i will be given the pessary and allowed to return home if things don't kick into action quickly). Just looked up SVD. I had some heart issues earlier in the pregnancy, luckily resolved themselves after leaving behind work stress. Good that they are keeping a close eye on things for you though - and at least you know you won't have too much longer to wait!

Argh - quite not quiet, and SVT not SVD! Sorry!

My colleague said chiropractic can bring Labour on if you're 'ready' - might be worth a try?

@user1471495191 Don't worry about typos, I make them all the time because this phone is awful to type on! I am glad you're happy with just having a date for induction. How do you feel about it all? I've read induction can make lavour more painful, so i freaked myself out! Glad yours got sorted too. I've had this SVT for years its just been undiagnosed and seemed to be worse in pregnancy, so they made me wear a monitor to see what was happening. x
