Has anyone else had spotting at around 17 weeks?

Hi there

Apologies in advance, if any of this is tmi!

Just wondering if anyone has experienced this.

I've had some browny red spotting. I'll be 17 weeks tomorrow. Otherwise, I'm fine except that I am really, really tired. I have no reason to be at all!

I had some spotting earlier in this pregnancy and also had spotting at around 10 weeks with dc1, (currently pregnant with dc2). I've never had spotting at this stage so just wondering if anyone else has and if they ever found out what caused it?

I've called the mw who said she wasn't worried, as it was brown blood and maybe caused by having sex.

Fwiw, we had a private scan at the weekend and the sonographer mentioned that the placenta was low and anterior (though it could move as it's still quite early on.

I had a couple of small bleeds at 20ish weeks which they put down to a low lying placenta. Baby fine throughout and delivered at term. If it gets red or heavy at all then call DAU or the labour ward and they might get you in to check on you. I had one overnight stay in hospital for observation.

After placenta moved up it resolved and I had no further bleeds.

Just a thought but if you're very tired perhaps mention it to midwife in case you need your iron levels checked?

Thank you.

I haven't been so good at taking my pregnacare lately and my diet's been a bit all over the place, so maybe will ask them to check my iron levels at next appointment.

I'll keep an eye out and will phone someone if it gets heavy or red.
