39 weeks pregnant and no sign of baby

39 weeks pregnant to day and no signs of baby coming. No show. Might have had a few braxton hicks hicks tightening's but not sure if that''s just wishful thinking.

Got an induction date for 40+2 due to essential hypertension and they don't want me to go too far over my dates.

Just really want baby to come here naturally :( They tried a sweep but midwife couldn't even reach cervix so not looking like its going to be any time soon x

any one in the same boat ?

I'm not but the day before my DC was born, he hadn't engaged and I'd had no braxton hicks etc either so you may just get a quick surprise too.

A friend went on a hike and went into labour that night. I didn't slow down really. (My brother spent weeks telling me to slow downHmm) and I went into labour at 39+4. Try walking housework anything that uses a bit of energy (I know it's in short supply). It might work 😊

I went into labour at 39+4, and until it started I had no signs something was going to happen, so you've still got hope op

Pressure point manipulation or acupuncture ... that baby will fly out (IME)

Report
lucylou1234 · 20/08/2017 20:24

i doubt there is anywhere around where i live does acupuncture. Pretty sure my OH would offer to do it for me - would mean i would stay in one place and not be able to find jobs for him to do round the house lol

I would say i feel a bit "periody" if that makes sense? However also feel like i'm going nuts symptom spotting back to when before i was pregnant, desperate for a tell tale sign i was gonna get that second line x

If your cervix is still super high and closed at 40w get ready....you're in with a high chance of a long induction potentially ending in a CS.

Definitely download shitloads of things onto a tablet/phone, take many magazines, or a book you can really get into, and some nice smelling stuff that'll make you feel calm.

Oh and earplugs and an eye mask.

I had a 100 hour labour. I know what I'm talking about Grin

That's what i'm worried about legend i really don't want to be induced, as i know it increases risk of further interventions, but don't want to put my baby at risk because of my bp. Every-time i go into hospital its fine, but longer i'm in it then starts to creep up. If bp is OK i might try and buy myself a few extra days but don't know what to do x

Is this your first lucy (not that it matters)?

If your bp does start climbing then they may fast track you to a CS anyway.

Don't fear a CS by the way. If they do end up offering one, take it. I am the planets biggest wuss and my CS was one of the best experiences of my life and the recovery a doddle.

Good luck and look forward to baby cuddles; nothing like it xx

yeah this is my first legend so nothing really to go on for previous labours etc.

i dont think im worried about having an actual section, more the lack of being able to drive for 6 weeks - i live in the middle of nowhere. its quite a number of steps to even get into my house - about 40 so i would be rather isolated when DP goes back to work. Although i say this i dont want the alternative of constant visitors out to me to "help" either as ill have no where to go. Does that make sense ?

Very similar boat, just a few days behind you! 38 + 4 with no signs of imminent labour either. Getting so impatient - can't imagine what I'll be like if i go overdue!

any signs today duck none really for me :( i suppose i should be thankful i wont be allowed to go too far over my dates, not sure how i would handle another 3 weeks of waiting lol

just curious and i know this is probably tmi, but all through my pregnancy i have had lots of discharge, but last few days theres been none. Is this a sign/mean anything ?

Nipple stimulation worked for me. Google how do it correctly and you should feel contractions straight away

41+3 here. Membrane sweep 4 days prior. Nipple stimulation, orgasm & cleaning the floor while on all fours did it for me.

Natural birth to large baby with no pain relief

I get better, bigger orgasms after having natural birth second time round.

Apart from losing my plug 2 weeks before I had no signs I was going to go into labour before my waters went. Try reflexology.

I dare not tell you how long I went over with all my babies or you will give up right now! I began to think I might be pregnant forever! But, just to reassure you, they all arrived eventually - just in their own good time. And looking back on it those weeks were just a drop in the ocean - they just seem interminable at the time.

Was it 42+ blossom?

I'm always fascinated by folk who go over 42.
