Protein powder safe for pregnancy

Does anyone have any recommendations for protein powders that are safe to consume in pregnancy? I'm in my first trimester and finding meat pretty unappetising so worried I'm not getting enough protein in my diet. I'm suffering with usual nausea and sickness and the main foods that appeal to me are fruit, veg and crunchy carb things!

Pre pregnancy I had whey protein in smoothies to supplement my workouts and running but I've read that they're not safe to consume so have stopped.

Any help please? I'd love to be able to have a fruity smoothie in the mornings with a nice dollop of protein in there. We're expecting twins so I feel I need it even more to help two babies grow!

Why not put a dollop of yoghurt in the smoothie as the protein component?
Milk, cheese, eggs, fish, beans, pulses. Any of that appeal?
Honestly, you don't need bucket loads of protein. Just try and get some in.
Congratulations on your twins.

I've stopped taking any protein supplements as doesn't seem to be enough evidence on them during pregnancy. I've been adding chia seeds, and Greek yoghurt to my smoothies for an extra hit of protein.

I'd add a dollop of nut butter or some ground almonds to the smoothie instead.

First trimester with twins here too (waves!) and only wanting to eat fruit/veg and crunchy carbs too - currently resisting making some toast Wink

I'd go with the yoghurt option, skyr (if that's how it's spelt) is high in protein and makes tasty smoothies with lots of fruit added.
