Pregnant but not had period since 2014!

Due to hormonal problems I've not had a period since 2014 when I took progesterone tablets to induce a bleed so I could start clomid. I went on the pill after ds was born as a precaution and stopped in may as thought we would see what happened. I took preg tests and ovulation tests for a few weeks after and nothing happened and I just forgot about it really as we had booked a hol and had a lot going on. Yesterday I did a test and I'm actually preggers! What do I do? Will I be offered a dating scan or something? I did a clear blue and it says 3+ weeks. Anyone been in this situation? I'm sure it can't be that unusual!?

Do you remember when you last took a pregnancy test and when you have had sex? You might find you're midwife will be able to calculate it (and have a feel of your uterus) or you might just be sent for a dating scan as normal and if you aren't at the right gestation they will ask you to go back.

Good thinking! Probably last did a test around a month ago and tend to have sex about twice a week so I guess if I'd got pregnant straight away then the most I'd be is 6 weeks? Is that right? Cos they class you as 4 weeks when it's only really 2 weeks from conception. So confusing. I think the main thing is I don't want to miss the nuchal scan window as I'm one of these that needs to know either way!

Congratulations on your positive test! I don't have regular periods (10 days to six months apart on average) so wasn't sure how far along I was with my first pregnancy. I'd suggest making a booking in appointment with your midwife sooner rather than later to explain your situation. She'll likely want an early scan to get an idea of progress.

Hope all goes well Smile

Yes, they'll book you in for an early scan and go by the measurements.
