Hi

I just wondered had anyone in early pregnancy 5 weeks suffer from upper thigh pain on one side? No other pain apart from the hip.
I've been told to monitor it for 48 hrs

Does it feel like a badly pulled muscle? I had that at 5 weeks and it was a DVT - the pain in my thigh was agony though and swelled up in my thigh and calf after about 4-5 days. Keep an eye on it x

Thanks I've no swelling at the mo so will keep an eye on it -
Can't believe how rude the early preg clinic was talking to me like I was a child myself - Angry

I immediately thought DVT. Watch out for any swelling or prominent veins in your lower leg or foot.

Thanks all I also have slight lower tummy pain which goes into my back but again been told to monitor as they can't see anything at the moment with being early on

Me... it was awful. Lasted about 2 weeks. GP checked me but wasn't concerned.

I'm 28 weeks and suffering with a similar pain. Had it at about 24 weeks and went to doctor, but as there was no redness or swelling he wasn't concerned about DVT. It's come back in the last few days with a vengeance though! It does feel like a very badly pulled muscle and I can hardly put any weight on it, I can only assume it's a standard pregnancy niggle ☹️

Is it the outside of the thigh? That could be sciatic nerve referral from a low back/pelvic issue.

It's on the front of the thigh hip seems to hurt with it and occasionally lower tummy pain

That sounds like a tight iliopsoas (hip flexor). Stretching will relieve it but unless you've been doing any unusual activity recently the tension would suggest low back/pelvic mechanical issues (these can be longstanding but only cause pain during pregnancy). If possible I would recommend seeing a chiropractor/osteopath who specialises in treating pregnant ladies.
