Had a sweep today at 39+4!
Apparently I'm 1cm dilated.
Has anybody had any good experience or similar experiences and has actually gone into labour?

37+1 = 1cm
38+1 = 1-2cm
38+4 = 2-3cm
39+0 = still waiting!

DC1 = sweep at 40+5, went into labour later that evening after some digging at the allotment and a long walk

DC2 = approximately 9 sweeps in total, after 40+ ... Even had 2 in one day (hospital was near a Jon Lewis so had one before and after). DC ended up being induced at 41+6 and born at 42 weeks by EMCS

So conclusion... They don't really work unless your body is ready anyway. That being said, I hope it works for you! Good luck!

Sorry, near a John Lewis that I went into, mooced around in, had lunch at the café etc. Didn't explain that very well!

I'm surprised they offered you a sweep before your due date?

Thank you all for replies!
Reason for early sweep is bubs was back to back and while being monitored for no movement I was having strong back contractions!
On way home from sweep was in agonising back pain! So will see, hopefully it happens soon!:)

I had a sweep at 40+1 which did start things off. Contractions started that night, DS was born the following day.

Good luck!

Had sweep at 40+4, 1-2cm dilated had back pain and cramps for rest of evening. Contractions started regularly next morning.

Lasted all day, then eased off at 5pm and got less frequent til 9.30pm. Really started at 10pm, waters broke at 11pm and in hospital for 12.30am. Baby born at 7.12am, but could've been earlier as I went from 2cm at 1am to fully and head moved down at 3am lol!
