I'm 39+2 and eagerly awaiting the arrival of DC2.

Who else is analyzing ever little twinge and cramp??

DD was born 39+5. I was checked over yesterday due to a very tender, sore bump (everything fine) and baby wasn't yet engaged.

Are you all prepared??

I am 36+1 and feel I have done my time now! This is second baby. My two year old is very full on? It's too hot, my back aches, I have horrendous sciatica, acid reflux and to top it all off - a few patches
of varicose veins which means I'll need a daily injection and compression socks from now until a week after birth! Oh the joys! Still a bit chaotic at home but feel
reasonably prepared - nothing a last minute panic won't sort!
My first baby was born at 36+5 so keep sort of forgetting that the end could still be 6 weeks away!'

SleepForTheWeek · 05/06/2017 21:28

I've got a 2.5yo so know how you feel! Maternity leave is not as relaxing as it was the first time round 😂

Every night I'm going to bed wondering 'I wonder if tonight will be the night?!'

Still need to try for crib into room which will require some reshuffling, should prob get on to that, and need a couple things down from loft - but other than that I'm ready!!

I'm done - at 36+2, I have a 5 year old who was born just before 38 weeks and need to remind myself I could have another 4-6 weeks. I had assumed this baby would be as early as my first but unfortunately after some research it's not looking promising. Thinking of being super lazy today and heading back to bed after the school run.

SleepForTheWeek · 06/06/2017 09:08

I'm feeling less pregnant today, I had severe aches and pains last night (probbaly from over exerting myself during the day) but feeling absolutely fine today - boo!!

Getting seen by MW at 1.30 so will see if baby has engaged it's wee head - although I know that's not necessarily a sign that labour is imminent.

I live in small town and everytime i'm out i'm getting 'oh, are you still here??' Hmm

40+1 today and no sign of baby yet... I've given up analysing every twinge as they've been happening for a month now! At the midwife tomorrow so we'll see what she says then!

deb1407 · 06/06/2017 09:53

@SleepForTheWeek I have days where I don't feel pregnant & it's not nice .. I just want my girl here safe! I'm usually a very busy person, I took early mat leave due to work issues, I'm having proper braxton hicks today - which believe it or not are quite nice!

SleepForTheWeek · 06/06/2017 14:31

Head is now 4/5 palpable yay! MW did it will probably engage fully when I go into active labour.

OP posts:
BayLeaves · 06/06/2017 14:34

I'm 40+3. Was 40+1 when I went into labour with my first, so this is just frustrating!

I'm also worried about voting... if it comes tomorrow, I won't be likely to get to the polling station the very next day! But what if I go into labour on the actual day of the election!?

SleepForTheWeek · 06/06/2017 14:47

Yes bay that's been worrying me too!!

WizardLizard · 06/06/2017 15:17

We registered for postal voting because of this. Voted two weeks ago now. I bet I'm still pregnant this time next week though!

RosePrincess87 · 06/06/2017 18:27

36+6 here! DC1 was well on her way by now, so where is DC2 and why is she making me wait longer than her sister?

Woolly17 · 06/06/2017 19:19

36 + 4 here and just feel huge. This is my first and am so excited to meet her. Though of course I also know it's very likely I still have a few weeks to go ...

SleepForTheWeek · 06/06/2017 19:55

Good luck to all you ladies - hopefully the end is nigh!!

I am really excited for this baby, even though I know how much harder life is about to get!

Peach04 · 06/06/2017 20:18

Im exactly 37 weeks and like everyone else on this thread Im analysing everything! DS1 was born at 35 weeks and that date has been and gone so now Im beginning to manage my expectations and accept that I may still have a few more weeks to wait! I go between feeling impatient and just wanting to crack on, to feeling paralysed with fear about labour, to feeling like I'm not in a rush and just want to enjoy this last special time with DS in our safe little routine before adding another one into the mix! I feel a bit daunted how its going to work. I had pn depression with my first and I'm just really hoping it doesnt happen again...I am SO excited to meet this baby now and have a new member of our family.. such a mix of feelings isnt it?!!

Creatureofthenight · 06/06/2017 20:24

I'm 38+2 and definitely ready! I feel so huge and uncomfortable and I swear I have 6 new stretch marks since yesterday!

SleepForTheWeek · 06/06/2017 20:33

I can sympathise about the stretch marks - my DD asked me the other day if I had been eating lines Shock

LadyNymeriaGhost · 06/06/2017 20:41

39+5 here, with a 3yo DD. I've been on mat leave for a week and a half, but today was the first day of actual relaxation, since DD chose last week to go and get chicken pox. Hmm
I don't remember being this impatient last time round!

RosePrincess87 · 06/06/2017 20:45

😂 eating lines!!!!

SleepForTheWeek · 06/06/2017 20:52

With DD I drank raspberry leaf tea, ate a punnet of dates a day and took evening primrose oil 2 x daily - I was only 2 days early with her but wonder if it made a difference. Haven't done any of that this time round!!

MW gave me a ball to bounce on so will start doing that - baby on its side at the moment so will hopefully swing round a bit - better than back to back which it was!!

Do you all know what you are having?

OP posts:
NurseP · 06/06/2017 21:02

Sleep- being on all fours is supposed to help turn a back to back baby too.
Had to go to hospital today for monitoring as reduced movements - for the fourth time! Feel like such a tit when the monitor is on and she starts dancing around!
Feel crap today- really tired and legs and back ache ALOT! Am very ready to no longer be pregnant! Got the car seat and loses basket ready today too.😍

SleepForTheWeek · 06/06/2017 21:05

Nurse I've been up for reduced movements too and the same thing happened - baby went crazy when the monitor was on haha.

I've just got the car seat ready too - the crib is assembled but needs fixed to the bed and the Moses basket is set up downstairs.

I'm trying to take the dog a walk at least once a day, even if it's just round the block, to nudge baby on too...

BayLeaves · 06/06/2017 23:39

Maybe the babies are all diligently waiting until we've cast our general election votes so as not to interfere with the democratic process Grin

I am 40+2 and last time I delivered on 39+6 so I didn't expect to still be pregnant. I have back ache and hayfever and I am not speeping and feel rubbish. This is my 4th week of maternity leave and I feel too crap to enjoy it now. Am wide awake and sneezing after 3 hours sleep.

LadyNymeriaGhost · 07/06/2017 07:07

Hopefully you'll sneeze the baby out, Apples. It's the day before my due date. Last time, this was the day I lost my plug. Still no signs this time, though!

SleepForTheWeek · 07/06/2017 09:20

I've just had a bloody show!! Yay!
