Crazy discharge.

I always had quite a bit of discharge pre pregnancy resulting in me wearing liners most days, however these days it's crazy. Maybe a little TMI but it literally dripples down my leg if I don't have a liner in sometimes. It's normally watery, clear and has no smell but occasionally it goes milky and thick but again, no smell.

I feel like I'm constantly leaking 😳

I'm nearly 15 weeks so I thought the early pregnancy hormones would have calmed down by now therefore the discharge would have calmed down, but I'm definitely getting more worse days than good now.

I'm considering seeing someone about it, but would it be the midwife or GP? Has anyone else had this?

Talk to your midwife and if they're at all concerned they'll tell you to see your GP.

So long as it doesn't smell, itch, and is clear or white coloured, it's usually nothing to worry about. But I'd ask if it's bothering you.

Talk to your midwife but I do think it's just another pregnancy grossity!! I was in extra absorbent pantry liners by 30 weeks with DD. I thought I must be leaking amniotic fluid or something, but no, just discharge.

I'm a bit irritated down there, feels like a slight burning but I think it's because it's always so damp! And in the heat the past few days. Feels like I've been wearing too tight jeans for too long.

I did self treat for thrush a few days ago, had the itch and that's completely cleared.

I stood up early and ended up double d over with pressure in my lower stomach, like a UTI but I've tested and there's nothing showing up like that.

I'll definitely give midwife a call. My anxiety is through the roof.

sphinxster Mon 29-May-17 19:06:17

If you're feeling pain/pressure do call the midwife.

OnNaturesCourse Mon 29-May-17 19:07:49

I will, I assume I must wait until the morning to do so? They don't have out of hours?

sphinxster Mon 29-May-17 19:12:50

No, you should have a 24 hour number. It should be in your hand held notes.

UnbornMortificado Mon 29-May-17 19:15:10

Is it thrush or BV?

I've had both on and off this pregnancy but instead of the usual itching (tmi) it seems to have manifested itself as extra discharge.

If your midwife can't see you quickly the nurses at the GP's are able to do swabs or the GP themselves.

Hope you get sorted it's caused me no end of anxiety too your not alone flowers

I don't have my notes to hand, the pressure has stopped and it only lasted a little while. I get the pain with UTIs too.

It doesn't appear anything like thrush and I've never had BV so wouldn't know what that is?

firsttimemum15 Mon 29-May-17 21:55:20

Call the triage it could be a leak. Best to get checked to put your mind at ease xx

UnbornMortificado Mon 29-May-17 21:57:02

Bacterial vaginitis (sp) id never heard of it either, other symtoms include increased odour.

I agree with PP's to get checked out to be on the safe side.

OnNaturesCourse Mon 29-May-17 21:57:33

A leak!

I've had it the whole time? Wouldn't that have shown on my scan? First timer here and I'm totally clueless

firsttimemum15 Mon 29-May-17 22:06:35

I dont know im not an expert i had low fluid the kept saying i wouldve noticed i dint want to scare you. Ring the hospital go get it checked. X

UnbornMortificado Mon 29-May-17 22:08:53

I think a leak would have been picked up (I've had 3 early labours due to PROM) I think it's more likely an infection but infection can lead to early labour so best to be on the safe side.

OnNaturesCourse Mon 29-May-17 22:26:56

I'll phone the midwife in the morning.

I don't think its urgent enough for a hospital visit, plus I've got DP laid up in bed ill and can't drive myself up.

I'll for sure call in the morning, and if it gets worse before then I'll ring the hospital.

I'm pretty sure it's my anxiety making it all worse.

UnbornMortificado Tue 30-May-17 09:29:01

Best to get checked Natures is bet money it's just an infection but at least if you know for definite it might help your anxiety.

OnNaturesCourse Tue 30-May-17 10:06:32

Yeah, I've to report to hospital at noon. They think it's either one of a few things: UTI, infection or leaking fluids so they are going to do a cervix check, swap any discharge and do a urine test.

I have been warned that I could be in a few hours, or kept in. Happy start to be the week but glad to be getting checked.

Hope everything has gone ok flowers

They have no idea what it is but cervix is high and closed, but tilted slightly.

Swaps taken, and urine sent off for testing but nothing on dip stick.

They've given me a thrush like pessary which should help clear anything if there is a infection starting.

Just to monitor the pain and report back if needed.

Baby heartbeat was good, and he/she was kicking away (could hear the thuds hit the Doppler lol)

Thank you all for talking me down off the roof!

I guess this might just be "one of those pregnancy things" as the doctor said today. Xxx
