When did you start showing the second time around?

I'm only 9.5 weeks and I've got a sizeable bump already Blush trying really hard to hold it in as most people don't know yet! Last time around I didn't show until around 4-5 months. I'm normally a size 8. Is this normal? Am I going to be fricking huge by the end? Or am I just getting chubby from all the pregnancy eating?

Baby one has likely stretched your tummy muscles. The bump at this stage is probably bloat though. It will taut up a bit in time :)

Watto1 · 25/05/2017 21:44

I started showing almost as soon as I had peed on the stick with dc2! However, it seemed to plateau and I actually gained much less weight overall second time around, despite eating a similar diet to what I did with dc1.

Emma2803 · 25/05/2017 21:51

Noodle I'm like you, only 8 weeks and already have a huge belly!! Similar to 18-20 weeks last time!!! I'm a lot bigger than you anyway but from right under my boobs my belly is swollen out!!! I think it's a combination of bloat and weakened stomach muscles!!

Roomba · 25/05/2017 22:02

About 28 weeks but I wasn't normal Grin And I didn't show much first time either right up to the end. With clothes on at least - naked you could certainly tell!

It's usual for bumps to show sooner in second pregnancies than in first ones, I think.

StylishDuck · 25/05/2017 22:18

First time I didn't really have a noticeable bump until 20 weeks. I'm 7+3 with my second and have about the same size bump now Blush It's definitely mostly bloat though. My jeans don't fit me anymore so I'm living in leggings at the moment. Holding off getting the maternity clothes down from the loft for just now!

bakingmad83 · 25/05/2017 22:21

About 10 weeks, currently 15 weeks and have a bump similar to when I was 6 months last time. Not sure how I'm still fitting into my normal clothes, but probably won't be long before I'm getting the maternity wear out again :)

Firenight · 25/05/2017 22:22

About 22 weeks

Foggymist · 25/05/2017 22:35

I'm 14 weeks with dc2 and not obvious to anyone other than me and dh yet, even though I would say I'm the size now that I was at 19 weeks last time. Didn't show properly until 30-32 weeks last time, as in to strangers or in loose clothes, definitely wont happen this time but I'm hoping that means I'll actually get a bump rather than just looking squidgy like last time!

Killdora · 25/05/2017 22:36

About a year before I got pregnant.

I'm 13 weeks currently and would say I'm similar to where I was at about 18 weeks last time. My jeans are getting too tight and I'm out of my main work skirt. I'm going clothes shopping next weekend. Last time at this stage I was just starting to thicken a little round the middle. Clothes getting tighter but still totally wearable. I'm finding this thread reassuring because I was staring at my mega bump feeling a bit sorry for myself earlier this evening. It doesn't feel like a solid pregnancy bump though. More like bloat and stomach muscles just sort of rapidly collapsing outwards 😱 Again last time it felt taut throughout.

SexNamesRFab · 25/05/2017 22:44

About 5 mins after we DTD - but like Watto I gained much less weight overall.

noodleaddict · 25/05/2017 22:53

Lindor yes that's what mine is like. Last time I had a lovely neat little bump, this just feels like all over wobbly jelly bloat, it's coming out at the sides too Confused

I'm so tempted to get into my maternity jeans just for comfort but it just feels too soon!

I'm 8.5 weeks with DC2, think I'm about the same size now as I was at 14/15 weeks last time. Lots of work & casual clothes that I can't get into already and I seriously considered getting maternity stuff out today because only one pair of shorts would do up and they're tight Blush Really don't want to wear maternity stuff until after the scan because it feels like tempting fate but not sure I will last!

SamiZayn · 26/05/2017 08:10

I'm glad I'm not the only one, I'm 10+4 now and I've consciously had to dress to hide my bump for a couple of weeks now

Foggymist · 26/05/2017 09:07

I had to break out the maternity jeans at about 11 weeks, I didn't look any difference but my jeans would not close!

Oysterbabe · 26/05/2017 11:13

I'm 10 weeks with my second and I'm a bloated whale. I breaking out the maternity leggings and tunic tops.

LittleKiwi · 26/05/2017 11:21

14 weeks and still squeezing into non-maternity size 6 skinny jeans! They're not that comfortable but I'm doing it. This isn't even a humble brag, just a flat out brag.

Last time I was in size 12 maternity jeans by about week 8 and it went from there to infinity fatness, basically, so hope I'm allowed to be a bit pleased this pregnancy isn't a repeat yet at least...

millsbynight · 26/05/2017 11:27

This thread is very reassuring!

Didn't show till 19-20 weeks first time around and up until that point only gained about 2kg and I'm now 8+4 and already using my hair tie to hold my jeans button and loop together Blush Will be back in all my maternity clothes at 12 weeks!!

Oldschool41 · 26/05/2017 12:54

I'm 10 weeks and 3 days this is my fourth child but a big age gap from my last 21 years to be exact ekkk... I look like I'm 7 months pregnant already... I've had to buy some maternity clothes as normal stuff just to uncomfortable arghhh I am normally a size 8

NannyPlum82 · 26/05/2017 14:05

Fourth pregnancy here. I am 13+3 and I am huge. My tummy just became a bump immediately. First pregnancy I didn't get this big till 25 weeks!!!

OutComeTheWolves · 26/05/2017 18:02

8 weeks here & am already the size I was at about 18/20 weeks with my first.

TheLegendOfBeans · 26/05/2017 18:06

I looked like a fat horse from weeks 8-17 but now I'm 19w I'm looking "petitely pregnant" (quote from a friend).
