Nightie for hospital bag

Hiya, anyone found good nighties for packing for hospital that don't cost the earth?

I'm looking for something baggy, cotton and with buttons or access for breastfeeding.

Not up for spending £25 per nightie as no doubt they will get stained with blood plus I'll probably need a few.

I got a couple of 100% cotton nightshirts in primark for £8 each. H&M had a maternity nightdress in dark grey which was £15 I think.

My mum bought me some bits from primark for hospital and they were great, still have a couple of £1 cotton camis many years later!

I found a black nightie in Primark for £5. Bought two with the intention of binning one if needed as they weren't expensive enough to worry about 🙂

@picketfence I agree primark can be an awkward shop to shop in when heavily pregnant x

Theyhaveallbeenused2 · 25/05/2017 20:10

Peacock have some lovley ones at £7 and not as busy as primark..

vfoster · 25/05/2017 22:01

Another vote for primark! I bought two for the birth of my now three year old. I intended to throw them out but they were so comfy I kept them and will be using them for birth number two in July!

kel1493 · 25/05/2017 22:06

I got 2 long nighties in primark for labour and birth, not maternity as I knew I wouldn't be breastfeeding.

Jfw82 · 25/05/2017 22:17

Another one for primark but also matalan worth looking at

han01uk · 25/05/2017 22:18

Matalan!

furryelephant · 25/05/2017 22:21

Amazon Grinpurely because I was too lazy/exhausted to trundle round shops BlushI got this one and it was comfy and easy to feed in! Maybe not as cheap as primark but I figured spending a few pounds more was worth more time sitting down eating cake

I got a large knew length button up shirt thing from primark for 3 pounds. Was amazing as buttons helped with bf too.

Most important thing I learnt is jot to get anything with those plasticy transfers on the front of them over your boobs... I was so sore from feeding that evwn the weight of this was agony! So as Light as possible!!

Sparklyuggs · 26/05/2017 05:14

theyhave good point! Peacocks had a black night dress online. Mine from primark aren't black but I'm happy for them to be thrown out after birth if need be.

PotteringAlong · 26/05/2017 05:31

Remember it's not necessarily for giving birth you need them but if you have a catheter in (i.e. If you have an epidural) then you won't be able to wear pj bottoms for at least the first 24 hours.

So buy 2 is what I'm saying! Smile

Bluefrog26 · 26/05/2017 08:15

Matalan have a big choice with buttons to make it easy to bf but otherwise primark

RebeccaCloud9 · 26/05/2017 08:20

I got a black stretchy knee length v neck nighty from m and s. It was perfect and has lasted well - I'm currently wearing it sat in bed feeding my DS, 2.5 years after buying it for when I had dd.

MyBreadIsEggy · 26/05/2017 08:22

I go some button down cotton night shirts from primary before I had DD.....turns out the room I had her in was like a sodding sauna so I left my dignity at the door and gave birth butt nekked Blush

MyBreadIsEggy · 26/05/2017 08:22

Primark*

LemonyFresh · 26/05/2017 08:24

Peacocks! Cotton, cheap and buttons - perfect

Hollyhop17 · 26/05/2017 09:26

I've got one from Marks, £16 so a bit more expensive but knee length, buttons down the front and ordered online. Perhaps Ill pop into primark for a cheap back up as well!
