Feeling baby move for the first time?

I'm currently 16 weeks 6 days pregnant with my first baby. I know it's probably too early on yet, but literally everyone is asking me 'have you felt baby move yet?!' and I'm now starting to feel a bit worried that I haven't. Had a couple of light crampy feelings but turns out as we saw on a recent scan that baby's been head butting my pelvis 🙄 so not quite the 'flutters' I've been hoping for 😂
Just wondering when other first time mummies felt their little ones move for the first time? And what it felt like?

Try not to worry! I'm 21+5 now, with first baby and I think I felt the first movement at around 17/18 weeks. It sounds really weird, but it just felt like a big bubble had popped in my tummy Hmm

Now the flutters are a bit more like movements, like a definite kicks sometimes and seem to occur mostly when I'm relaxing or when I've just eaten.

Feeling them can depend on all sorts of things though, such as the position of the placenta etc!

I'm 20 weeks and only just starting to feel movement... it's normal so don't worry especially with first baby :) x

Totally normal. When I look back I was feeling flutters at around 16w from one twin but nothing from the other. It took until 23w before I felt proper kicks!

I didn't feel until 20 weeks or so as the placenta was at the front.

I have only just started feeling movements towards the end of week 20. I thought some twinges at 18-19 weeks might be movement but now I'm fairly sure it was just my uterus stretching. My movements are very distinctive, a feeling I've never felt before. I sort of understand the bubble popping description. To be it feel more like someone flicked you with their finger from the inside, then there's this weird reverberating little vibration for a second.

I felt tickles at 18 weeks, kicks at 20 and kicks you could feel from the outside at 22 weeks.

Try not to worry. You don't need to start monitoring kicks until 28 weeks- that is a long time in the future! I think it would be unusual not to feel anything by 22 weeks. 16 is very early.

I'm 20 weeks and I started to feel real proper movements and kicks on the day of my 20 week scan when I was 19+6 (3rd baby). With my previous two it was more like 22 weeks and over when I started to feel movements.

Like Antihop I haven't felt movements until 48 hours ago- I'm 20.5 weeks with my first child and turned out at the scan that I also have an anterior placenta. My midwife and lots of friends also asked me as soon as I hit 16 weeks if I'd felt anything which was a bit anxiety provoking for me... but try not to worry! It will happen; just takes as long as it takes unfortunately! X

Didn't really feel any of my 3 until 20 weeks.

I'm 20 weeks and only the last few days I've felt proper movements and a kick or two. Before that I felt strange crampy feelings and kind of a low down anxious feeling!

Midwife and others started to ask me at 16 weeks if i was feeling anything but was almost 18 weeks before i really started to feel baby. and its still only funny little flutterings and odd sensations that i can't describe (will be 20 wks on monday).
its really common tho, especially if its your first, to not feel anything till 18 or even 20 wks. Also depending on your placenta position it can dull the sensations so could even be much later on before you feel baby.

16 weeks - it felt like muscle twitches from holding a plank position but really low down.

Felt first proper kick around 18 weeks which felt like being flicked from the inside.

Thanks everyone this does put my mind at rest, it's when everyone starts asking you (literally bang on from 16 weeks!) and you can't help but feel a bit anxious. I did think it could be a while longer yet though.
For now just enjoying the stretching and ligament pains 😊😩 haha
