Hi ladies,

For the last 24 hours I've been sick at least once every hour. Sometimes 10 times an hour.

Last night I wasn't managing to keep fluids down. Today I seem to be but I drank some water a few minutes ago and vomited it all back up.

Last night I started having pain when I swallowed. It's like a slash of skin or something has been torn in my upper oesophagus. That's what it feels like anyone. There was blood with it.

I've recently vomited again and after the initial sick there was quite a bit of blood. I'm sure it's not coming from my stomach, I have had burst ulcers before! Horrendous stuff.

I tried contacting my GP and he refuses to see me and insists on A&E. He wants to be sure I'm not vomiting blood. I've vomited blood for about 2 years straight of my adult life, all in all, and I know it isn't that. It's my throat.

Is it possible to tear your throat whilst being sick so much?

Currently 14.5 weeks pregnant and feeling the worse I've felt yet Sad

Yes, you can. But regardless of where it's coming from, vomiting blood needs to be seen, and if you can't keep fluids down then you may need IV fluids. Get yourself to A&E and I hope you feel better soon.

Yes that is probably what's happened . You poor thing.
Get yourself to dr asap.

If you call 111 now they will make probably you an out of hours appointment or something.. We have one at our hospital next to a and e. They're a bit hit and miss in terms of what dr you get but they can check your oesophagus and also check your urine to see if you have ketones and need to get straight onto a drip. They my also be able to sort you out some meds to help. Cyclizine helped me when I had a few days like you describe. There is a great support thread here.. will link it

Please get help asap

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/pregnancy/2934337-Hyperemesis-Support

In the first post here are some useful websites and numbers etc and the SOS website on there has great advice about when talking to a gp or dr who may not know how to handle you... many don't know much about hyperemesis. Mine had to Google it and then said "ah so just morning sickness" . Don't let that out you off. . Keep trying until.you get taken seriously... I found a dr by chance whose wife had had it and suddenly was treated totally differently

I have torn my throat from vomiting when I had HG. You still need to go to a&e if you are being this sick!
