Pregnant after mc

Had mc in Feb/March (bleeding at 10 weeks but growth stopped around 5-6 weeks) and very luckily/happily I'm pg again.

I'm only 5 weeks and I'm trying not to get my hopes up and be positive however my reality is that until I hear there is a heartbeat I cannot allow myself to be happy or excited.

I plan to speak to a local private scanning company but can anyone tell me if I should speak to EPU and ask if they can do an early scan? Do they do this for women who have had previous MCs?
I have read the earliest you can hear heartbeat is 6 weeks so I guess I'll have to wait until then anyway.

So infuriating and happy and worrying and exciting all at the same time.

Sorry to hear about you MC but congrats on the BFP!!

When I had my miscarriage back in July 2016 the EPU said if/when I was to fall pregnant again that I could ring them and they would see what they could do. They made it sound like it was a bit unofficial, but worth an ask I suppose? I'm yet to fall pregnant again so I am unsure if they will actually see me, but they did make it sound like they would

Congrats again and best wishes.

I have had three mmc and the EPU have been very understanding and scanned me early each time I've conceived again as my anxiety ramps up horribly. My local EPU operates a walk in clinic, so I don't need to get a referral first.

Realistically it's better if you can wait until 7.5/8 weeks for a scan as you will definitely see a hb at that point (if all is progressing well), and the odds of mc drop substantially, but I know that time drags hideously in early pregnancy.

Good luck.

I had MC last year at 6 weeks and the EPU at my local hospital, Liverpool women's, offered me a reassurance scan at 7 weeks. Had it Friday and measured 8+1. Worth asking Smile
