Pregnancy

Weight gain halted

I've read that in 2nd and 3rd trimesters a weight gain of 1lb a week is ideal. My weight gain has halted for the last 3 weeks now (currently 26 weeks), but I eat when I'm hungry, I just don't have a massive appetite really.
So just basically checking in to see whether the ideal lb a week is an average by the end of the pregnancy, or should I actually be seeing it increase week on week?
My BMI was a healthy 24 prior to pregnancy and when I saw my midwife on Thursday she said they won't start measuring bump for another 3 weeks.
So is this all okay? Or should I up my food intake?
Thanks :)

The baby will take what it needs, pregnancy weight gain isn't an exact science. I haven't weighed myself since I got my bfp! Don't worry.

I had a friend who started pregnancy about BMI=28. She didn't gain anything until 3rd trimester, & found herself skinny for only time in her adult life when pregnancy ended. Baby was fine, of course.

Same thing happened to me. Don't worry about it. Sometimes I'd put on nothing for a few weeks, then I'd put on 2 or 3lbs in one week.

It should be fine, I have only gained 10 pounds from pre-pregnancy weight (after dropping around 7 with hyperemesis) but I am having growth scans every 4 weeks and despite the small weight gain I've made so far my baby twins have been on track with growth in every scan. Everybody is different and gain different amounts of weight as some women carry more fluid. I also have not gained any weight for about 2-3 weeks but I am not concerned as my bump has definitely grown in that time so the babies must be getting bigger.

Thanks for the reassurance everyone. Baby is still active and kicking a lot so I'm probably just over thinking! One of my friends is also pregnant and she is so much bigger than I am. I know we shouldn't compare ourselves to others but it's hard not to isn't it! I just don't feel like my appetite has grown in the slightest, and all I keep hearing is pregnant women saying they can't stop eating (although I know that's not necessarily good either).

A lb a week is bollocks, no-one should be gaining 39lb unless they are very underweight to start with. Google it, there's a range (although not every woman will fall into it - as long as you eat when hungry you'll be fine).

hedgehog - it was a lb a week in 2nd and 3rd trimesters not the whole pregnancy. But yeah, I'm sure it's fine like you say :)

There's a reason they don't weigh pregnant women anymore, weight gain is individual.

I'm much smaller than you so a tail off would be concerning as i need to put on weight (the baby for one, plus some fat stores for bf). If you already have some stores your body can use, it will probably do that instead. The important thing is your fundal measurement as that checks baby is still growing.

(I'm not eating more than before I got pregnant either)
