Umbilical artery Doppler reading

I went to my FMU today for reduced movement. Long story short - it was fine. Baby had a big change of position and I wasn't feeling the kicks.

I'm looking at the Doppler and scan results now and everything is very middle of the scale, which is great, except the reading under Doppler - umbilical artery which reads PI 0.85 and shows as low on the scale of normal.

I didn't see this until I got home and I will ask my midwife on my next visit but to save me from Dr Google until then, can anyone tell me if this is potentially red flag for anything placenta-related? I've already be told that because of my age they will be keeping a close eye on my placenta function as my due date approaches.

Thanks for any help.

I think that one is the one where low is good and high is not. Just had DD and had a LOT of those scans x

I'm not an HCP so don't take my word for it - but my understanding is that PI is the measurement of resistance to blood flowing through the placenta - so low is better IYSWIM (obviously you want less resistance to blood rather than more!)

OP i think PP is right... isn't it to do with resistance in the bloodflow (could be completely wrong!) lol
