Strep B (GBS) and Sex

Hi there, I'm 8 weeks.

I've read about GBS "it appears that GBS lives near the entrance of the vagina in most cases. Do not push it toward the cervix by getting unnecessary cervical checks."
So I'm 8 weeks pregnant (yey!) and my husband and I daren't have sex as we're worried - surely sex would also push GBS towards the cervix (boo!)

I was GBS positive in my last pregnancy and been told I can assume I still. I miscarried last time. It was probably unrelated but my husband and I are being uber cautious this time, but.... I'm worried about our relationship if we don't have sex for over a year!

Anyone experienced having GBS or know anything about this?
Thanks in advance x

By now but you have a mucus plug that stops anything getting in there. Plus the baby is protected in a totally sterile environment. The only infection risk is elivery during delivery when the baby comes down the birth canal and you will need to have intravenous antibiotics during labour to prevent the baby getting ill.

I've had GBS in all 3 of my pregnancies and had sex all the way up until 42 weeks all 3 times. Until your waters break the baby cannot catch an infection from outside as it is sealed in!
