I feel so stupid asking as it's my second but I keep getting these horrible pains it starts in my back and goes round the front of my belly I just can't remember what contractions feel like, I've been getting them all day and now I can't sleep not sure what to do ?

ring your maternity ward?

I second ringing and having a chat. No harm in having a conversation with them.

If they are regular lower abdominal pains, you may well be :)

You don't have to leap out of bed right now, just try and relax as much as you can and monitor their progress. You could ring but as it's the first twinge, they will most likely only advise you about how close together etc they need to be before they expect you to come in.

How far along are you?

How are you this morning OP? Easter Smile

It does sound like you could be, but they can also stop and start in the meantime building up to the main event Flowers xx

Managed to get a couple of hours sleep but they have calmed down now so must just be building up to the main event but going to get my induction day this week due to medical reasons was hoping he might come
On his own and I wouldn't have to be induced xx

Awhhh :/ have you tried nipple stimulation? That's anecdotally very effective and has a couple of studies to back up its effectiveness; you have to do it for like half an hour at a time though! And better if you can do it while bouncing on a birthing ball :)

Oh really! Someone else told me about that but said to use my breast pump haha, I might give it a try when I get home xx

I remember spending weeks with pains and thinking I was in labour it drove me mad, just try to relax and bounce on our ball, go for a walk etc and if it hots up then ring labour ward but no point getting ahead of yourself until it really kicks in! When you're at that stage you'll know!!
