Pregnancy

So frightened of miscarriage

Morning girls, I'm not too sure what's happening with me 😞
Yesterday when I went to the loo I noticed brown blood on the tissue. This continued throughout the day. Last night when I had a wee a clot came out, (it was quite dark (so sorry for TMI) long and thin, about 2 cm in length, but had a slight red tinge around the edges. I was so worried I phoned my friend who is a midwife. She has advised me to call the doctor this morning who will hopefully refer me to the EPU for an internal scan today.
I've hardly slept through the night as I've wanted this for so long and feel devastated at the thought of losing my little bean.
I did a pregnancy text this morning and there is still a strong line so that gives me hope. Just had a wee and there is still a brown mark when I wipe but it's only even been on the tissue never heavy enough to stain my knickers.
Sorry for the long post! I'm just hoping someone else maybe had something similar and it turned out ok.
The brown blood doesn't bother me too much as I know that can happen it's the clot I'm worrying about.
Trying to keep positive with the thought 'today I am pregnant' x

When is your scan? How are you doing?

It's so difficult to know if it's a mc or not as many people bleed throughout their pregnancy and many do not.

Hi Gingerhannah, I went to the doctor today and she's referred me to the early pregnancy unit for Monday for an early scan. Fingers crossed everything will show ok x

Fingers crossed for you... I'm sure you know already but try and keep busy so you don't fret so much. Easier said than done I know!

If it helps make you feel a little less worried, I bled for 12 weeks of my first pregnancy and had lumps like the lining of my womb I was so scared. I now have a very healthy 2yr old. It doesn't always mean the worst. Good luck with your early scan.

Thank you both, mustang it's so good to read that and def reassuring. I just had another two clots but still not bleeding so I'm clinging onto it just being one of those strange things. The doctor said if I started bleeding then that would be a worry. As I'm not, I'm keeping all my fingers (and toes) crossed x

How have you been feeling today?

Hi, I'm feeling much better about things. No more clots which I'm so happy about. Just keeping positive until the scan on Monday. I had such sharp shooting pains in my boobs this morning so I'm hoping that's a symptom that things are still good. Thank you so much for asking x

If you have bleeding early pregnancy you should be able to get a scan from the early pregnancy unit (emergency gynecology unit) immediately. It's 24 hours a day. Don't wait til Monday! X

MummyM33 · 05/05/2017 18:44

Thanks MissBax, that's where I'm going Monday. When I was with my doctor yesterday she said she could send me then but it's likely they won't see much so I'll need another scan, where as if I wait till Monday there will be a chance of a heartbeat showing as I'll be 6 weeks. There's nothing I can do apart from rest and hope until then really x

Ahh ok, I'd personally not be able to rest if I could go sooner but if you're happy to wait that's fine too :) x

I know what you mean but I was thinking well seeing nothing there might make me panic more so at the moment I'm just thinking its all ok :) x

Good idea, I hadn't thought about that actually, it could cause way more anxiety! Good luck for Monday :) x

Oh god I never get sore boobs except during pregnancy, they become so sensitive.

It does sound like a good sign and no more blood or clots is brilliant. I literally can't wait until Monday for you x

Hey! My sister bled in her pregnancy with her first and second at around 16 weeks, and bled for a week or so (like a very light period) and both babies born healthy and pretty much on time, 2nd was a monkey and a week late! They couldn't find a cause for it but bought her in every few weeks up to popping for check up scans. Sometimes it happens so try not to stress, I know it's only natural to stress but these things happen sometimes with no explanation. Hopefully it gets sorted for you Hun. ❤️

Thank you so much for thinking of me.
It went amazing :) baby is still in there with a strong heart beat!
At first they did an external ultrasound scan and confirmed they could see a sac and a yolk but wanted to do an internal to be certain everything was ok. I then had an internal which wasn't as bad as I imagined and she showed me the tiny dot which is baby with a good strong heartbeat flickering away on the screen.
I could have burst into tears I was so relieved! Just need to get through the next 6 weeks with no bleeding to my 12 week scan x

@MummyM33 I had pain at 6 weeks, scan at EPU same as you blob with heartbeat, had the same as you too at ten week brown blood and a little bit of pink, another scan and shown a little baby kicking about, just had my official scan at 12 and half weeks and lovely baby wriggling about, I know it's hard as I still get terrified at the slightest twinge but try not to worry for the next 6 weeks 😊 it will soon be here x

Yaaaaay I'm so happy!!! Iv honestly been worrying sick about you. Pregnant ladies are crazy you know lol. I'm so relieved it all went so well and wasn't as horrible as you had imagined. Try not to worry to much as I said before I bled right up until my 12 weeks and it was all fine in the end. If you are feeling ok and you are up for it you should treat yourself in some way, you deserve it.

Thanks girls :)
Ew you poor thing! make sure you keep yourself hydrated, you've got enough going on without having sickness!!
Mustang that's so sweet, thank you so much for thinking of me. I was so desperate to get pregnant I didn't realise how hard it is to actually stay pregnant! I'm keeping positive now and just taking it all in small stages. My next stage is my midwife appt next month, then it'll be the first scan and keep going like that :)
Hot pink I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you, totally understand what your going through. Please let us know how your scan goes x
