Maternity clothes models.

I would really appreciate some diversity in maternity models. I know lots of people are naturally very slim and have a tiny bump but a lot aren't. As a healthy active size 12 who has quickly expanded to a 14 in pregnancy I'd love to see people who more broadly reflect the body changes that most pregnant women experience. Please, at least in pregnancy, let us have a bit of fat on our bodies.

Most of the models don't even look pregnant i agree it's unrealistic sometimes you want to know what clothes will look like on the average sized person before you buy them.

I don't think the majority of models used are actually pregnant. I think they just use a fake bump under the clothes which is probably why they are all just bump with not an ounce of fat elsewhere or a swollen ankle to be seen.

I swelled up everywhere like a beached whale when pregnant.

DH cousin certainly was pregnant when she modelled mat clothes

But they added a bit to her bump I think, since, being a model, she is tiny

Yeah some people are tiny, but a lot of people really struggle with their weight and body changes. Ive just read a post from someone who says they're so ashamed of the weight gain and their pregnancy body that they don't leave the house. That's awful. Can't we just have a bit of a break from needing to have some perfect body while we grow a human? It makes me really angry.

Yeah I sent you a pm ticking time bomb. It upset me a lot that you felt like that. I feel like that too but I'll be damned if I'm going to not enjoy life because I'm a bit fat. It's not like I killed someone. I just put on a bit of pregnancy weight.

Discovered that Tesco maternity models are a bit more varied. Or eBay is good. No models at all just hangers!

It's the same with models pushing prams advertising for bugaboo etc. All with manicures, immaculate clothes, make up on and perfect hair! So realistic! grin

Non of them look like exhausted new mums!
