Growth scan accuracy?

Does anyone have any experience? Anecdotal evidence is fine!

I'm 32 weeks and had a scan to check on a fibroid, while I was there they checked the growth too and it would seem the baby is massive! Already weighing in at around 5lbs putting it over the 95th centile. This is dc3 and my other two were on the small side, I don't understand where this whopper has come from! Although it does explain why I'm so uncomfortable.

Slightly crapping myself at the thought of getting it out to be honest.

There was a thread yesterday on this. Basically: wildly inaccurate.

I'm having regular growth scans and as long as the centiles are tracking rather than dropping/ rising, they're happy

I had a growth scan with my first at 36 weeks due to gestational diabetes and was told she weighed 9lbs 7oz and that she was very big. I had a planned caesarian anyway but she was 7lb 1oz.

My second was also said to be big at over 9lbs and she was 8lb 6oz.

My midwife told me they aren't accurate unless down virtually weekly, and even then, it's still not 100%

I have been told with all of my babies that they will be born small after having growth scans.

1st 7lb 5oz so average
2nd 9lb
3rd 8lb 3oz

They were all predicted at 6lb2-6lb 10

I'm 31 weeks pregnant now and have another growth scan tomorrow due to them thinking he's small, I can tell he actually feels big.

Mine was fairly accurate:
Had it at 37 weeks (I was measuring 30 weeks gestation). They told my my baby was about 6lb. My baby was born 6 days late, so nearly 41 weeks, and weighed 6lb 7oz. So a gain of 7oz in nearly 4 weeks

I had growth scans with my 3rd. Was estimated between 10-13lb birth weight. He was 8lb 12.

Inaccurate at best. Put it this way I'm expecting dc5 currently, due to the older 4 having iugr I'll have regular growth scans. If they tell me baby is estimated 6lb I'll plan for a baby weighing anywhere from 5lb-7lb +/- a few oz either side!

I started a thread on this the other day, growth scan at 31+3 because they suspected baby maybe small and they said 4.5lb! They also measured fundal height and that came out even bigger, over 95th centile. My first was on about the 30th centile at 36 weeks and I have an under active thyroid which is why this one was expected to be on the small side.

The responses seemed to really vary but there were lots of people for who it wasn't accurate at all, so I'm hanging onto that! She does feel pretty long in there there though so I am a bit worried.

My first was born at 33 weeks and weighed 5lbs 1oz which I think put him square on 50th percentile so I would worry too much at a guestimation.
