Hi,
Long story short, I'm pregnant, 6 weeks and 2 days in. After spotting and a bit of pain today (abdominal, but not as bad as period cramps), I ended up in a&e. I had blood taken, and my HCG level was only 245. The doctor was pretty adamant that this will mean a miscarriage. I honestly don't think I could handle a miscarriage, and wanted to know.... Is there any hope? I'm booked in for a scan on May 4th, but still trying to be hopeful.

Hi OP from what I understand it is not the amount of HCG but if it doubles.

What the doctors mean by it being low is if you are 6 weeks then they would expect to start seeing a fetal pole and heartbeat on a scan very soon... to do this HCG normally needs to be a minimum of 1500

Is there anyway you are less than 6 weeks... say maybe you ovulatex very late and implanted late?

Hi :) I don't think I could be less than six weeks, but I'm not sure. My last period was the 11th of March, and I usually have a 27 day cycle? The doctor I saw just said he expected the bleeding would get worse and I'd miscarry in the next 48 hours. So far its been 12 hours, and the bleeding has gone from red to brown, and is now very light, so I'm hoping it stays and doesn't get any worse.
