hi all,

I found out that I am pregnant today (4+2) - not a planned pregnancy but welcome all the same!

Last night I drank, approx a bottle and a half of wine and on thursday I had three pints of beer at a concert. Im panicing that Ive done some irreversable damage to my baby :(

Can anyone advise?

Your baby isn't connected to your blood supply at this stage of pregnancy. Relax and enjoy it.

Congratulations.

You'll be fine. I conceived in the Saturday morning and got pissed at my mates 30th that night. The week later I got drunk with DHS friends. I'm not concerned at all I'm now 9 weeks xx

As above, no umbilical cord yet, fetus is currently self sustained so nothing you have done in the last few weeks will have had any effect. Congratulations Flowers

Don't panic! The week before I found out I was pregnant, DP and I are sushi and drank copious amounts of alcohol.

DD is 18 months old now and perfect.

Both my DC were conceived around Xmas time... party time! They are both physically fit adults with decent levels of intelligence, enough to get to degree level Grin

I was a huge smoker and drinker when i got pregnant! Totally stress related social smoking and drinking. Soon as i found out i was pregnant which was around 4 weeks i stopped both immediately. I'm now 41 weeks easiest pregnancy ever and baby is very happy and healthy in my belly! So much so that she doesnt want to come out!

You'll be fine! Plenty of women don't find out until much later and drink

I too was a smoker when I found out I was pregnant - I'd been out two nights in a row the previous weekend for my birthday and the weekend we conceived so I'd had a skinful!

Soon as I found out (planned but was on the first attempt so were barely thinking about it ) I stopped all activities like that Grin

I thought DD1 was a really really severe hangover at first. It was Christmas party period while working at an ad agency and we partied HARD.

WHen I was still very hungover in January I realised it was morning sickness the whole time Blush

She's 7 now and very bright and lovely don't worry!

Got completely plastered at a ball with unplanned pregnancy at about 4 weeks prior to knowing I was pregnant. Totally tortured myself over alcohol at ball. He is now 12, gorgeous, in year 7 at grammar school and has no issues (discounting the emotional toll of negligent yet entitled ex!).

You've found out really early, don't worry about it at all. Congratulations!

I did pretty much the same thing! Friday night my husband had gone out so I absentmindedly drank a bottle of wine watching TV. Saturday morning I had a positive pregnancy test and I felt so guilty!
I spoke to the midwife at my booking in appointment and she said not to worry, it won't harm the baby at all.

As above, your baby should be fine at this stage.

But a bottle and a half of wine in an evening is a lotShock You will need to stop that in the future.

Congratulations btw Flowers

You'll be fine and so will baby :) Just remember the folic acid tablets from today - they are more important.

I also thought DS1 was a really bad hangover Blush. I went to the doctor I was so worried I might have harmed him. He told me not to worry.

DS1 is now 22, healthy, happy and fine Smile

Yeah a bottle and a half is a lot...its easy to do when you're chatting with good company. Next thing you know you're kitchen dancing with not a care in the world Grin

Thanks for all the replies..im going to relax and enjoy it!
