I need some advice please

I have given birth to my little girl nearly 10 weeks ago, I bottle fed her, my first period since giving birth was 09th march. I'm still waiting for my second cycle to begin, it's now been 38 days since the beginning of my last one, which is unusual for me because my cycles are usually between 28-32 days , when I had my little boy my cycles were regular straight away!
Yes I've had unprotected sex
And yes I've taken 3 tests which come back negative.
I thought you periods were only late or irregular if you breastfed ??
Has anyone else been through this?

Thanks

Why are you not using contraception? It should be started 21 days after the birth. Could be hormonal or you could be pregnant

I haven't used contraception because it's not really the first thing on my mind with a newborn and a 2 year old, still have negative tests so must just be hormones

Was the first thing on my mind when first having sex after a baby. Better get something sorted if you don't want another baby at the moment

If you've just given birth and didn't want another baby yet surely if you were thinking of having sex, you'd try to be more careful.

I'm sorry but this lady has come on here for some advice and to me seems like you guys are being a little judgy...this things happen...
If you don't have actual advice and just want to tell her something that I'm sure she already knows then better not say anything at all...

But anyways hun...I would wait a few more days then do another test or go see you GP and see what they have to say about it x

if you look back at the first message I wrote it doesn't say anything about not wanting another baby as to be fair I would quite like two very close together, I was generally Asking if other mums menstrual cycle went straight back to normal after giving birth who bottle fed their baby.
So no thanks for the great advice to the two very Judgy people on here ! Round of applause for using contraception straight away you must be dead proud of ya selves

Thanks LIlRemz for the back up ! X

What's wrong with some of you 😂

I exclusively BF DS until 8mnths old, he is almost 11mnths now. My period returned after 12 weeks and came every month thereafter and I feel pregnant on my 5th cycle, I am 3mnths pregnant (planned)

So yeah I guess mine did go back to normal straight away but I didn't expect that it would, I thought it would have been all over the place. I hope you got the advice you were looking for, don't listen to the high minded, contraceptive police up there 😂

Everyone's hormones are different, so it could take a few cycles for them to regulate and for you to be fully fertile. However, if you were pregnant then that would surely show on a test...so I would guess that you are not.

In your shoes I would use condoms until cycle is regular again, just so I would have more of an idea whether or not I had conceived - it's always been an odd fear of mine to be pregnant and not know until I go into labour (blame it on reading magazines at my Granny's when I was 6)

My periods were quite erratic for the first few months after I stopped breeastfeeding.
