Has anyone fell pregnant even though they have taken the morning after pill? Especially Ellaone?

It's quite possible to get pregnant after the MAP as it won't necessarily stop the egg implanting, only ovulation. So if you've already ovulated when you have unprotected sex it's less likely to work.

My sister! Took MAP straightaway, but fertilisation had occurred & that was it.

She has a beautiful boy she wouldn't be without and a running family joke about not getting a refund on the £30 it cost her to buy!

Whatever scenario you may be in, good luck OP.

The egg wouldn't have implanted so fast if she really did take it immediately. It's more likely ovulation had already occurred.

Thank you for the replies.
Took one Monday morning after unprotected sex the day before. But was constantly sick for two days. Wednesday I went to clinic where they gave me another one to take. I've not been sick since but feel sick. At the time of sex I was going ovulating although only found that out once at clinic. Hope it works for me

It happened to me! I took MAP within an 1hr of 'the incident' (we lived opposite a boots at the time) and now my beautiful 10mth DD is napping upstairs... I huge shock for DP and I but we wouldn't change a single thing!

Sorry forgot to mention it was Levonelle not Ellaone though if that makes a difference...

I took Levonelle and my baby is 17 now. So pleased it didn't work for
me.

Yes! I took Levonelle two days after and am currently 29 weeks! But very happy. I was told that Ellaone is more reliable, can be taken up to 5 days post sex, but Levonelle is 72 hours...can't quite remember who told me that though. Good luck.

Wow so many have. Could I ask if you had any symptoms after taking the MAP?

Me too! Only episode of unprotected sex. Took MAP within 8 hours. Baby number 4 is now nearly 7 and I wouldn't change him for the world! Smile

Apparently it doesn't work if you are above a certain weight range. Would have been nice to know that at the time.

Yup. Took levonelle within 6 hours of a condom splitting. No vomit. No symptoms. DD is 21 next week.

Yup, the 13 year old upstairs should have been called Mark Arthur Philip.

Yep
Took Levonelle around 12 hours after, felt awful almost instantly after I took it; really nauseous, tired and cold and just generally unwell for about 5 days
She's just turned 6 Smile

Yes I have a 3yr old. Apparently it's less effective if you weigh over 11st - I weighed 14st at the time. Wouldn't change things now.

seekerseeker · 13/04/2017 19:57

wow did not know it was less effective if you are on the heavy side. I'm over weight and both health professionals I saw did not tell me this.
Suppose it's just a waiting game now until I'm due on.

Yes, I took it 2 days after unprotected sex, and stayed pregnant. I even had a quite heavy period, so I didn't realise I was pregnant till several weeks on. I always wondered how the embryo survived through all that bleeding.
Hope you get the outcome you want op.

@seekerseeker I didn't have any symptoms at all until 3 weeks later when my boobs started to hurt so took a test, dated it pretty much to the day I took the MAP. Didn't know about the overweight thing either, I've never been weighed or had this discussed so didn't know it was a thing

Since DTD I've had cramping pains, felt sick, vomited numerous times, felt dizzy. Thought it is a bug of some sort but because I was sick within 15 minutes of taking the pill on Monday and carried on being sick i got another pill two days later. I haven't been sick since taking the MAP but feel sick, dizzy, cramping and have a copper taste in my mouth that I can't shift.

@ohyesiam
Thank you although I am not sure what I want the outcome to be. It's a Relatively new relationship and although he said he will support me and do the right thing I'm sort of doubting what he has said through my own insecurities. Think the stress of the past few days has taken its toll on me and over thinking everything.

Pregnancy symptoms wouldn't come on so soon after conception, though? Biologically it must take at least a couple of days until the hcg hormone starts up and you start getting actual pregnancy symptoms. So it might be unrelated?
