Pregnancy

I'm a cow

I know I am but I'm 7 weeks after 18 months ttc and clomid I'm terrified. A work colleague announced her pregnancy at 12 weeks last week and it's the only thing her and everyone else talk about. It's a bit boring. when she told people a few colleagues said it'll be you next to which I told them we're in a place of work and I do not discuss my private life or plans with them. I'm a cow aren't I?

No you are not a cow at all. You have been through a difficult time and your personal life is exactly that. Obviously you will have to tell your employer at some point but don't feel like it has to become the topic of conversation in the office if you don't want it to. Just say you would prefer not to talk about it in your case. The others are likely just excited for your colleague, but i can see how it comes over as annoying if it's all they talk about. You are at an anxious time, i am 7 wks too and it's like i have no idea what is going on inside me. But i haven't been through the struggle you have. Wishing you a happy and healthy pregnancy

I hate hate hate talking about pregnancy at the moment. Everyone seems to have forgotten I'm an actual person with my own interests. Obviously it's lovely that everyone is so happy about the baby but I would like to talk about something else some time!

Totally fine. I had lots of questions about when I was going to start a family during early pregnancy and I didn't know where to look. It's really inappropriate and if it's something that I wanted to discuss with random work colleagues, I'd bring it up first.

I find talking about pregnancy boring too. Some people thrive off being asked questions and discussing thier bump (my sil) but I find it tedious. I work with women who've had babies and if I'm asked a question about how I'm feeling or if Ive bought anything my answer gets drowned out by them wanting to share thier experience. They often don't realise how repititive they are , 'oh one time i went to Asda and I was just SO big I couldn't close the door' comes up at least once per week. I don't think you're a cow at all x
