Pregnancy

If you got morning sickness when did it start / end?

I'm 4+1 with no sickness at all but concerned about long haul flights at 7+2 and 8+5 because I have travel anxiety and if I'm feeling sick it will be unmanageable.

It's a work trip so I can't back out without telling them why (obviously won't be doing that).

So my question is if you got morning sickness what week of pregnancy did it start / end?

Thanks in advance lovely MNetters

Not a helpful answer but the sense I get is it varies massively from person to person. I started at 8.5 weeks and am still nauseous/being sick at 13.5 (although not as badly as last week so I'm hopeful that this will be the beginning of the end of that one!) Fingers crossed you won't even have nausea- 50% don't! X

Hi, sorry to say mine started at week 6 and is still going strong at week 25. Everyone is different though so there's nothing to say you will get any nausea/sickness.

No one can predict what your sickness will be like. Is this your first baby? It's not even hereditary, annoying, as my mother is baffled at my hyperemesis - she thinks it ends at 16 weeks for everyone (her).

I can tell you that for most women, 9 weeks is peak feeling-shite time, though.

Started around 8 weeks. Had a blissful couple of months in the middle when it went away. Came back and finally went when I pushed her out. My body doesn't like being pregnant

At 5 weeks with my first / 6 weeks with my second, up until 19 weeks both pregnancies. Also agree with the above that peak time was 9-10 weeks

DC1 no sickness at all
DC2 week 3 until 23 non stop, I'm 25 weeks pregnant now and get it on and off

Varies between people and pregnancies though, I stupidly didn't think I would get it with this one as I didn't my first, how wrong I was lol

Sorry but it started 5 weeks in. I actually stopped vomiting about 25 weeks in. I felt nauseous until an hour after she was born.

Started at 5 weeks, finished at 25. I also had work trips (transatlantic flights) at 6 and 7 weeks. It was pretty grim. Ask your Gp for medication.

4 weeks to 10 weeks. Stopped as suddenly as it started.

Started almost instantly but by 7 weeks was horrendous. Let up briefly between 18 and 21 weeks then back again, I'm now 31 weeks and still nauseous.
Seabands helped me until about 24 weeks then seemed to stop, but nothing else really helped and I couldn't take anti sickness medication because of a medical condition and drug interaction.
Safe to say it sucks!!!

Started at 5 weeks and still going at 14 weeks (although slightly more manageable now, but I don't think it's going any time soon....)

Meant to add that with dd1 I had no sickness at all, but this pregnancy with dd2 is completely opposite!

Weeks 6-16.
I just had nausea with dc1, mild sickness with dc2 and I was a vomiting mess with dc3, so I think it gets worse the more kids you have.
Good luck and congratulations on your pregnancy.

Started around 6 weeks and continued up until and during labour. But it wasn't actually that bad, I'd need to. Omit, nip to the loo and throw up and be fine again 5 minutes later.

Thanks for all the replies.. sounds like it's pretty common to kick in around 6-7 weeks argh I really hope I get away with it!

Maud did you get anti sickness meds for the flights? I don't normally get travel sick but I do get anxious so normally take diazepam/ Valium.

Mine started at about 10 weeks and finally settled down at around 16 weeks, the only thing that helped was making sure not to get hungry or too tired.

Everyone is different though, hopefully you might be lucky enough to avoid it completely...

Incy the only time I've felt sick so far is when I had a late night / got too empty.

Gonna have shitty jet lag though argh!!
