Miscarriage, what to expect?

So I had a scan at 7 weeks, empty sac, no yolk/foetus/heartbeat. They thought my dates were out but I knew they weren't. Took bloods, hcg was in the 3000's but only raised 10% in 2 days. They still said there was hope but I KNEW it was failing. Thought it was going to be a silent mc or blighted ovum but then the spotting started, brown for a couple of days, followed by some typical period cramps and now the proper bleeding has arrived. I'm not flooding but it's more than my usual daily panty liner can take so I'm on the "night time" ones and the cramps are pretty intense. Small "bits" when I wipe (sorry tmi) but no obvious clots or gushes of blood that I've seen described 😳 I have another scan booked tomorrow so haven't informed anyone medical about what's happening as I knew I didn't have long to wait to see someone anyway. Been like this for 2 days now. Just wondering what to expect and if it's going to get worse or how long the bleeding will last. I'm heartbroken but haven't felt right for a couple of weeks, hence I went for the early scan in the first place. Can't wait for it to be over now already, it's my worst nightmare come true and I feel hideous and so miserable and just don't know what's going to happen and how long I'm going to feel like this.
If anyone has any advice or experiences to share, please do. I know it's an uncomfortable subject but I feel so lost, any help would be appreciated x

I'm so sorry this is happening to you - it is an awful time. I felt like all my hope and joy had been crushed and I was just under a cloud of sadness.
For my last miscarriage I was 8 weeks and similar to you no heartbeat at scan but hcg level high. It took a good few weeks after starting bleeding - it was slow to start and just seemed to go on and on. The clots did come but only after a week or so of bleeding. I did have bad cramps or anything and didn't even need to take paracetamol. I had another scan at the EPU at end to check it was all gone.

I ovulated again immediately (whilst I was still bleeding from miscarriage) and my cycle returned to normal straight away.
Take care and allow yourself to feel shit - it is shit Flowers

Thanks ladies. I do feel really rough and I know I have to ride this out for as long as it takes but I'm also panicking as I'm 33 this year and was trying for 6 months before I fell pregnant this time. I've never been pregnant in any way before and I feel like I've already been grieving for a fortnight while I expected this to finally happen and I don't want to spend weeks and weeks waiting for it all to be over before I can try again. My cycle was always so regular before (hence I found out so early, 2 days after period was late) and we are so ready to be parents, it's so cruel this happens to so many of us. I'm sorry you've been through it as well and I really appreciate you sharing with me 🌺xx
