2nd pregnancy at nearly 40. Bleeding 1st trimester

Hi this is my second planned pregnancy, I am 40 and his year. I have a nearly 5 year old too. I had a bit of bleeding with my son but the other day I came out of the gym and gushed red blood. I bled for two hours. It then stopped and 3 days later I'm still passing old brown blood. I was seen by epau who couldn't see why I had bled. Heart beat was there at 7 weeks 4 days. Since then my abdomen has felt tender, sore, bruised. I've been instructed to not train till the 2nd trimester now :-(

Anyone had similar???
