Hi everyone I have been TTC for quite a while now, after hours of searching the Internet iv decided I'm going to give vitex-Angus cactus, maca root and coq10 a go!

Has anyone tried anyone these or together and had any success??

I did Agnus Castus and Q10...and Seven Seas Conception and Inositol. Worked...took them for 3 months before. BFP first month of trying at age 38!

I used Angus cactus. I already had two dc's (first conceived with help of clomid) and cycles were getting longer again 10 weeks at this point. First cycle on Angus Cactus was 30 days. Next month I was pregnant.

I am pregnant with my second and after 9 months of 60+ day cycles became pregnant at around the same time I started taking Angus Castus. I had previously used it in tablet form from Holland and Barrett but then got it in liquid from a company called A Vogel.

Agnus Castus here.

I'd been on the depo injection for 11.5 years - last one ran out end of July and i started taking Agnus Castus mid-September and got my first period in 11.5 years just three days after.

Had one 26 day cycle and got my BFP the next cycle.

Continued taking it until about 11 weeks and just kept dropping the dosage to ween off it rather than suddenly stop and it be a shock to the system.

Currently 23 weeks!!

Best of luck!!

I took all of those at some point! I conceived straight away twice but unfortunately had 2 MMC's. Decided to take coq10 to help with my egg health. Am now 32 weeks pregnant at 39 smile

My favourite thing was finding an acupuncture fertility specialist who I saw regularly and took Chinese Herbal medicine. To be honest though I'll never know if all the things I did helped or if it was just timing. I enjoyed doing them though and it helped keep my brain vaguely sane.

Good luck smile

Hello Ladies,
i know this thread is napping, but thought i'd add my 2 pence worth.. i'm currently on 1200mg of Vitex, i believe it helped me ovulate after coming off the pill in dec 2016, i've only had 3 cycles... so to get a move on i started taking Vitex and Dong Quai together, i received my first Positive OPK ever about a week later -( CD 71) i am approx 8-9DPO. excited to see a BFP or AF as at least it will reconfirm how great this herb is.
CatRash i plan to continue taking it for the first Trimester. How many pills did you take as the weeks went on to wean yourself off?
so much controversy but I am sure i will continue to take it but not sure how best to wean off if it happens.

Best of luck @JackMarshall2 - hope you get your BFP!!

I was taking 500mg tablets, till about 8 weeks, I then cut them in half so had a 250mg dose until 10 weeks, then I quartered them so had a 125mg dose until 12 weeks when I stopped completely.

I asked both my GP and midwife about them and both told me to stop taking them - but this was based purely on the fact they hadn't heard of them!!

I'd done a bit of Googling (dangerous I know!) and I didn't care come off them cold turkey as read it can cause hormones to drop and cause miscarriage which I didn't want to risk.

I only had one complete cycle before I got my BFP but I only had an 8 day luteal phase (which I'd very short and probably due to hormones being out of balance) hence why I didn't want to tip the scales by completely stopping them.

I was taking vitex for a couple of months before I got my bfp as I was having spotting before periods. I was taking tincture form, about 5ml a day before breakfast. I took it until 12 weeks pregnant but gradually reduced the dose over that time so I was only taking about 5 drops every 2 days by the time I finished. Now 21 weeks.

Also had weekly acupuncture for the month before my bfp, no idea if it was linked but the month I started it was the month I got pregnant!

Tried maca but found myself spotting mid cycle so stopped after a week.

Thank you CatRash and MsBranwen and i hope you both continue to have H&H pregnancies.
I have a son who is 6 and a half, i was the typical 28 day text book cycle and conceived on the 2nd month - i thought i didn't want anymore kids till last year - but my thinking on this is that as i have no idea what my body might be lacking (hence the lack of Ov and AF) and this herb will assist my hormones with releasing an egg, i might as well trust it till the Placenta takes over. its been encouraging to hear your positive stories, I've heard too many stories of loss from those stopping cold turkey and i agree most Dr's haven't heard of it and its not in their vocab so they tend to advise you to stop without even trying to find out some facts...

I took agnus castus, maca and ubiquinol and got my bfp at 44. The agnus and maca really helped with my awful pmt, reducing it from 2 weeks out of 4 to 2 days. Plus I got pregnant!

JackMarshall2 Tue 20-Jun-17 19:05:34

KellyMarie.. Congrats on your BFP - how long after you started taking the herbs did you conceive?

I've heard a lot about Maca, have it on my wish list to purchase if the AC and Dong Quai end up not doing much, although i have faith in the AC very much, i've seen it working immediately for me, first time i am seeing EWCM ...I know the full benefits might take a while but for some it just works instantly.

KellyMarieTunstall2 Wed 21-Jun-17 07:33:22

3 months. Bit on the third month I used opks and I think that helped too.

JackMarshall2 Thu 22-Jun-17 13:23:22

KellyMarie that's great timing... yes i have been using OPKs too, think i finally got the hang of them now.- its the waiting game for me, 10 or 11DPO, i'll still be ok even if its a BFN, i just want some regularity so i have more of an idea about whats going on.

i've been temping but I am so bad at getting up at the same time, but going to make an effort so i can combine the OPKs and BBT.
