Sensitivity of Doctors tests?

Hi girls (L)

Does anyone know how sensitive the doctors pregnancy tests are against clear blue and first response?

I have estimated I have approx 2 weeks pregnant and the doctors test came back negative (a one and a half weeks however), although I now have 8 positive home pregnancy tests!

I am due my period on Friday and am freaking out in case my period appears, anyone else been in this situation and can offer some relaxation advice ? xxx

When did the doctor do the test? If your period isn't due until Friday it's very early still so only very sensitive tests will pick it up... doctors tests are probably equal to supermarket ones I would say?
Fingers x!

Why was the doctor testing you so early? Usually you'd wait until 5-7 weeks to go to doctor to confirm it, one of the reasons being the possibility of chemical pregnancies etc. Wait until Friday/Saturday, test again, book in with gp for the next fortnight or so if they're still positive.

Doctors tests are about 100miu aren't they? So a lot less sensitive than high street ones. I think Clearblue Digital are about 25 miu and Superdrug about 10 miu.

I was too impatient and panicked a little, hence why the doctors tested so early. I feel as though with 8 positives I am pregnant, however I will wait until next week to test again. Ive only heard ladies say it is rare to get a false positive however a false negative is more common.

A standard wee on the stick doctors test is usually 25 miU/ml, obviously less sensitive than a blood test which is usually positive at 8 miU/ml.

The surgery where I work uses 25 miU/ml tests so not as sensitive as the early ones like FRER

My friend had a negative at the doctors and positive on clearblue at a similar time to you, she just had her dating scan this week

Had 1-2 wks on a digital and went to GP four days later where his test was negative. Blood test confirmed the pregnancy.
