Anyone feel like they'll just never go into labour?

Im only 39+5 so not even due yet - due Friday. But I feel so depressed! I had it in my head that this baby would arrive early.

Dc1 was 11 days late. DC2 was five days early. I've had it in my head I was going to be super early with this one - I had a stomach bug around 37 weeks - which is stupid, I know.

Just feel like I'm never going to go into labour. I need to get my head sorted out! I've had all sorts of signs for weeks now - cramps etc and no longer take any notice of them. It genuinely feels like it's not going to happen Hmm

Hey!
I'm with you 39+4, no signs what so ever!

Last one came day before due date - just all of a sudden started up. Everyone keeps saying this one is bigger, be here earlier etc but who knows!

How are you feeling? Must be tough with two others to look after? I have one DD 2.5 - it's been better than I thought but people seem to be helping me out which is really good!

Are you going to have a sweep or anything? X

I was sooooo miserable in the last 6 week (went to 42) wait with DD1, most miserable I have felt in my life! Kept having due date changed because I wasn't sure on dates and she was big so was expecting her earlier than when I actually think she was due. Miserable time, sending hugs!

Am only 27 weeks now but the thought of going into spontaneous labour seems impossible after a 3 day induction last time!

Due the same day as you, RedCrab, and yes, finding it impossible to believe the baby will ever come. Rationally I know he can't stay in there forever! But I've had no signs at all he's on his way. Hardly even had any Braxton Hicks. I really really really don't want to be induced, but I just can't believe I might go into spontaneous labour, when I don't feel any signs of it at all.

I never really did go into labour. My waters broke at 40+6, getting me all excited, but then nothing happened for 2 days so I was induced. Lots of contractions and all that but 22 hours later I was still only 3cm dilated (and not technically in active labour although it certainly didn't feel that way).

He had to be forcibly evicted in the end (c-section) at 41+2 since my waters had been gone for 3 days. The kid must have been comfy in there.

I was told all the way through my 2nd pregnancy I would be early, drs/consultants/midwives all said it - they even referred me to the preterm clinic thinking she would be early - 4 days overdue in the end! As id had it in my head I'd be lucky to reach term (37 weeks) by week 38 I already felt overdue if that makes sense?! Anyway baby came with no signs at all, went to bed as normal, no cramps, back aches, BHs etc woke up at half 4 with contractions, sped to the hospital where I was already in active labour and she was born in 4 hours! Hopefully once yours starts it will be quick for you too! X

I've been overdue 3 tims! Fully gearing myself up for a 4th Grin

It's frustrating but however you look at it, you really haven't long left at all now. Chin up and try to pamper yourself whilst you can Flowers

I went overdue with both of mine and ended up being induced with my eldest. It's horrible waiting but the one thing that kept me going was remembering that in X weeks/days baby will be here one way or another. Sorry not that helpful really. hope baby arrives soon!

I'm due Sunday but feel like it's never going to happen. With my first I only went overdue by three days and was experiencing pains on and off for the week leading up to having him so I knew something was happening.
With this one I've been having braxton hicks since yesterday but they are not painful or regular, they are just tight and take my breath away at first and I don't really feel like they are doing anything.

Yuuuuup, I'm 40+3 no signs yet! Was convinced this one was going to be here by now as Dd1 was 7 days late and Dd2 was 3 days late (would have been born today) .... I'm feeling way to comfortable for it to happen anytime soon :( blehhhh

These bloody browser issues are not helping!

I've had BHs for weeks now - since at least 28 weeks. Had period type cramps since 36 weeks. Lower back pain that's not pregnancy-back-pain since around the same time. Had a bit of mucus type discharge last couple of days but I've learnt to TRUST NOTHING! Ha.

I was inducted with my first but with my second, I started getting pains in my hips First and I mistook them for ligament pains. That was confusing.

Another one due on Friday here and showing no signs. No braxton hicks, no twinges, no aches. Same with DS and had to be induced at 42 weeks with him - really hoping to avoid that this time. I'm absolutely massive as well and people have been telling me for weeks that I'll be early - nope! I am having a sweep on Friday though so hopefully that'll get things going.

Fingers crossed for us all!

Yup, induced with four separate pessaries and gels and drips and stuff at 42 weeks last time, 4 days on induction. Fully expect the same again, currently 36 plus 4. Depressing!

Another person due on Friday here.
My DS was 8 days early, so I feel late already.
Hoping the midwife will give me a sweep tomorrow, starting to really struggle now.
Fingers crossed for all of you.

So many of us due on Friday!

I have another thread in Childbirth about refusing induction in lieu of a CS. I had a horrendous first time induction experience, then an amazing homebirth experience. I had convinced myself I'd be early with this one (stupidly) but then it started to occur to me that I could go over. Had a conversation at my "40" appointment on Tuesday about how I wouldn't consent to an induction. I just can't. I feel sick and panicky at the thought of it. And it's not labour because I had a pain relief free, incredible labour with DC2. It's specifically inductions. It's not even starting at home and transferring in. It's totally irrational, I know Confused

Anyway, I hope and don't expect it will come to that. Very much hoping for another HB but I needed to take control. It was starting to stress me out with the idea of going overdue. I have a sweep booked for Saturday as they won't do it until you are 40 weeks here.

I'm with you! I'm a week overdue now and no sign.

Its such an anti climax when you spend your whole pregnancy counting down until due date and then nothing happens. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

I woke up this morning so calm and serene and now I'm in a really awful PMT type of hormonal bad mood. My eldest isn't at pre school until 12 and the morning has descended into constant yells for me, arguments with his 2 year old sister and non-stop whinging from her. I actually yelled at him to stop shouting for me constantly because I was coming already Sad Feel like I am making everyone miserable. Especially my eldest.

But - and maybe it's a plus sign? - I've had lower backache all morning, my pelvis feels incredibly tight and heavy and baby feels very low down. Periodic cramping. I know this could just be the situation for two more weeks so trying not hope it's all going to start soon. Desperately need it to start soon - I just can't do this anymore, I'm utterly miserable.
