How was your third labour?

Due in june with number 3 and wanted to know how others labours progressed. Was it faster and less painful? Maybe it's a stupid question because all labours are different and i should know that seeing as I have had 2 already. My problem is that my DH works away during the week, 1hour and 30 mins on the train and another hour faffing with trams and buses to get back home. He leaves the car with me to make it easier but I am worried he won't make it home when I go into labour if it is the middle of the night. Did you ladies labour really fast with third baby?

Quick. 30 mins from first twinge to baby. Delivered by dh in kitchen. Ambulance arrived a few mins later.

Good luck!

Following... DS1 was induced and took 6hrs from IV insertion to baby. DS2 was spontaneous and took 4hrs from first twinge to baby... lucky number 3 for 2hrs...?

Awesome. My second was fast and painful. 90sec contractions every 2min for 2hours with no break at all. Intense pubic pain. I was very nervous for the third, but it went really well, was about 2 hours again but contractions never got closer than about 3-4 min apart and no where near as painful as the second.

I did have planned home births for DC 2 and 3 so no worries about getting into hospital

Ended in c section due to his position but went from 2cm- fully dilated in two hours

After 2 straightforward births my 3rd was not quite what I expected. She was breech and I had her turned which was apparently successful but I quickly felt out of control in labour and begged for an epidural which I didn't have with the others. She got stuck and I ended up with an ecs.

They all sound soo fast! I had an emcs with DD1, then 4 hours in established labour with DD2 and a normal birth. Don't want him to miss it with this one.

I had an induction with my 3rd. I had a 24 hr pessary which failed, when I finally got to labour ward 3 days later they broke my waters and left me an hour before putting the drip in, then after an hour or so it kicked in and it was really intense. I think from drip to baby was about 6 hours. 2nd baby was much better, waters broke spontaneously, from very first twinge to baby was under 6 hours, and perfectly manageable.

Due with number three and really frightened! My last labour was 15 days over and took 2 hours once the induction kicked in. I ended up having emergency surgery to remove my placenta and stop my bleeding. Lost so much blood was in intensive care for 3 days then acute ward for a week.

I want an epidural and I don't want to go into labour at home as we over an hour from the hospital.

I'm not sure what do as I'm so so scared

My number 3 was ridiculously quick. Gone from nothing to 15 minutes to me feeling her head come down. And she literally just shot out.

Im my mums number 3 and did exactly the same

Bloody hell, I'm gobsmacked at the speed of these! My first was 22 hours, second was 12 hours to fully dilated but then wouldn't descend so ended in EMCS. I was thinking if it halves each time I'm in for a "speedy" 6 hours this time!

My third delivery was about as long as my first (8 hours as apprised to 4 for my second.) and it was difficult as the contractions never really got going for any decent length of time. I had almost no pain until 9cm and then it was really painful but contractions only lasted 30 seconds every 4 mins so I basically did the pushing myself after the midwife gave me the all clear to do so!
I also had the shakes after delivery which I hadn't had before. Even so I delivered at 3am and left for home at 6am. Bacon sandwich and straight to bed!

3 hours for me but went really really overdue.
Really easy labour and birth, and by far my heaviest baby (9lb 6). Had a home water birth, it was lovely

Third was 8 hours, and got stuck in transition so it wasn't fun.

Good luck x

3rd was faster still than other two - 2hrs. But it seems I come from a family of fast births (both grandmothers, DM and Dsis') - do you know if your close relatives had fast births, esp subsequent births?

Third was quick and painful!
I had my waters broken when I was 4cm and dd was born about 26 mins later. Pain before that wasn't even enough for gas and air.

I was induced 5 days before due date with number 3. Had pessary kind on a ribbon thing at 11 am, contractions started at 10pm but I had waters broke and there was a lot of water, and drip, most painful labour out of all of them. He was born at 12.19 pm next day. 9lb 2
