Anyone have any ideas about this? It's like very bad pmt, except, I don't even get pmt this badly. Didn't happen in my first pregnancy.

I can't get enthused about anything except to be angry or cry.
Stress is really getting to me at work, but that was much worse first time & I didn't have a problem coping.
It's doing my head in, I feel as if I could do with a week off, but unfortunately that's not possible.
Poor husband is suffering, although I am trying not to be too evil.

Any ideas? Or at least any company?

My emotions went haywire during the second trimester too. It felt awful. I had days where I would cry on and off for hours.

I would strongly recommend going to your GP and say you're concerned about your mental health. I got fast tracked onto some cognitive behaviour therapy via the local health authority, which helped a lot.

Oh god really? Already have a referral to clinical psychology as it turns out previous birth left some issues behind it :/
Not keen to do anything to encourage further intervention tbh. Bum. Will think about it tho, at least glad to know it's not just me (although obvs sorry you also went thru it) smile

I have a history of depression, so signs that it may have been emerging again were very frightening for me. But I'm glad I asked for help. Apart from being cross about being nearly nine days overdue, I'm well.

If you already have a referral for a psych, that's a good thing. Go.

I'm 19wks and funny enough 1st trimester I felt my hormones were finally balanced after years of depression and being emotional etc. I barely cried or got worked up. However last two weeks I've been so irritable!! I realised one day last week I had emailed or tweeted a number of different complaints and had been short tempered with some team members for poor performance (justified but was particularly irritable about it). I find I get easily hacked off with the general population grin at least I can blame the hormones!

academic so do I, but a very long time ago. I'm worried that 'they' will use it as a reason to keep me in hospital longer, when that's actually the worst thing that could happen.
Laura I hope you feel better again soon. I've had a couple of not bad night's sleep & got some housework under control which I think has helped a little.
