Heartbeat at 6+2 ?

I'm considering getting an early scan but how likely is it that there will be a heart beat present at 6+2? Am I just setting myself up for more anxiety and stress and would be better waiting a week or so?

I had one at 8 weeks and thought it was a great time, can see lots going on and heart beat easily

Thanks Debs - for context I have a history of miscarriages and I just need to know one way or another if everything is ok.
In Jan I had a miscarriage at 9 weeks but in fact the embryo had stopped growing at 5.5 weeks. I had all that time thinking it was ok when it wasn't.

My heart goes out to you OP I was in the same boat as you with a previous missed mc and the crushing discovery of no heartbeat and measurement of 6 weeks at 11+6 so just could not settle and wait until 12 weeks when I found out I was pregnant. However, it's really safer to wAit until at least 7 weeks. I saw my little bean with s flickering heart at 7 weeks precisely. I'm 38+5 at the moment so fingers crossed for you too and keep the faith. But don't go too early as you may actually not see the heartbeat if you go earlier yet it may be a false picture at that stage. Just hold out few more days. Good luck - sending lots of good vibes.

I had a trans vaginal scan due to a bleed, I was measured at less than six weeks as there was a gestational sac but no fetal pole visable, I wasn't exactly sure of dates due to having wonky cycles and no heartbeat was present, went back a fortnight later and a little grey blob with a heartbeat was there and measured 7+5. If you go too early there's very little to see and might just upset you, be kind to yourself with whatever you choose x

I managed to hold out until 7+5 for a scan this time. I had a mmc in December that was discovered at an early scan - it had stopped developing at around 5/6 weeks. This time I've seen a nice strong hb and it measured bang on my dates. Having said that, it's still very early days, so I'm not counting my chickens.

After you've had a mc the early stages are always going to be nerve wracking, but the longer you can wait the more reassuring really. The risk of mc once you've seen a hb at 8 weeks drops dramatically. Plus it's then not so long to wait until your dating scan.

DS1 didn't have a heartbeat at 6+3.
DS2 had one at 6+0.
If you can bare to wait til 7-8 weeks, you are much less likely to have that awful wait from an inconclusive scan at 6+2 til you have a rescan.
And if it's a private scan, can you afford 2 a couple of weeks apart?
