I'm 26 weeks, is it important to have a midwife for the last bit of my pregnancy?

Why wouldn't you have a MW?

Erm yes that's kind of the most important bit. Are you an adult?

I would say you need one, have you done your birthing plan etc? Can you choose not to have a midwife?

Yes, if you have a straightforward pregnancy the midwife is the only person who will monitor your pregnancy. You will need your urine, blood pressure and baby's heart rate checked.

Yes. They check position, baby's heartbeat, your BP, bump size, protein in urine and general health.

Arguably it is more important to have a midwife in the later stages of pregnancy, as this is when some of the more serious complications can develop. Why would you consider not having a midwife?
