My ds hasn't had an easy start in life, he was in hospital for a month because of feeding issues to do with a floppy larynx.
Now we have been home a week and trying to get into a routine. When I'm holding him he's not looking at me its like he's looking through me. I tried moving something across his face and he did appear to follow it. I had a doc appointment today and mentioned it and she said it was "interesting" that hasn't helped. I'm so worried. He already has suspected hearing problems

Hi, Im not sure how much I can help with regards to your little one and his issues but I just wanted to let you know someone is here. I want to say to you, try not to worry. I know you both haven't had the best start and that's probably affecting your anxiety levels but as long as your little one seems OK in himself, ie. Feeding, sleeping, not stressed out and crying lots then please just try to enjoy him. I say this as we had a little boy born with a rare condition. In hospital midwives and pediatricians were unsure about how his condition would develop so were unable to answer when I asked if he would have trouble sitting, walking, talking ect. Basically they said take him home and see!!! I spent the first 4/5 months of his life worrying and stressing out over every little issue and it was hard going. I now realise that there was nothing I could have done, he is who he is and I wasn't going to be able to change anything. Obviously you need to be aware of his health and I'm not saying don't get him checked but with regards to development and milestones just try not to worry. Xx

Thank you for replying. My eldest d.s was diagnosed as being mild-mod deaf at a few weeks old and it really upset me, fear of the unknown. He's 10 now and copes great with hearing aids. I find myself worried about everything
