Which pram should we get?

We can't decide what pram to get! We like most of the Silver Cross ones, in particular the Wave and Surf 3. I love the look of both of them and they both have good features. The Wave is £995 and the Surf is £745. I also like the Pioneer which is £707.

What's everyone else got and what would you recommend? I'll mostly be pushing it on normal roads, round the shops and maybe the occasional walk around the woods etc.

I've purchased the silver cross wayfarer and I absolutely adore it, I think it depends on budget but maybe go into a store and push one around to see which suits you better:)

If you have a car check it fits in your boot! I had my heart set on the surf 2 or pioneer, turned out it would only fit in the boot with the wheels off. Knew it would annoy me having to do that every time so looked elsewhere. We have the mamas and papas ocarro now.

Check that you can reach in properly on the Surf- I liked it until I realised I couldn't actually reach in over the handlebar fully when in carrycot mode! And I'm not even short!

We ended up getting the Mamas and Papas Urbo2 which is lovely and a similar price bracket.

Thanks everyone. I think I'll go back and have a good play with them all. I did look at the Wayfarer but I've heard some bad reviews about the wheels. We're planning on getting a bigger family car, so hopefully size won't be an issue.

There are too many decisions to make! Confused

I had the surf with my first, 2013, i had nothing but problems with it, it started making a squeaking sound really high pitched after a few months which got worse so took it back got a replacement and after a few months same thing happened again so traded it in for a Graco Evo which i was really happy with n no problems what so ever! I then found out i was having another child so upgraded to an iCandy Peach, lovely pram, and can be upgraded to a double also should u choose to have anymore x

Second checking what fits in the boot of your car. We've got a bugaboo buffalo as we do a fair amount of off road in. Don't get me wrong- I love it, but with the carry cot it's a beast. Have to take off the wheels and I have an estate car! Will be far better once we use the regular seat attachment.

The icandy ones are really smooth to manoeuvre and the uppababy vista is good too - high seat and huge basket.

We have the pioneer and can't fault it at all. We don't drive so didn't have the issue of will it fit in the car.
We chose the pioneer over the wayfarer and surf because we didn't like the wheels on the wayfarer, we thought the larger ones with proper tyres would be better. Also the pioneer has a slightly bigger basket.
We chose it over the surf because we wasn't keen on the wheels on the surf either, and with it only having a tiny basket we didn't think it was suitable for us.
I knew I wanted a silver cross no question, so it was just a case of which one.
I love the new colours too

We have the icandy peach 3 - LOVE it. It's really easy to manoeuvre and the way the chassis folds up and goes over your shoulder if you have unavoidable steps etc is great.

We looked at the surf too, but went with the Uppa Baby vista. Same price bracket- but imo miles better.
Bigger basket, built in sun shade, easy on/off brake (when wearing flip flops!), stands upright when folded so takes up less space in the house, turns on a penny and very easy to manoeuvre! I could go on. They sell them in John Lewis - I would definitely ask for a demo! Good luck!

No advice really but interested in following...
Currently at the top of my list is Uppababy or Joolz Day.

Going to John Lewis for another demo in a couple of weeks and will definitely carry out the boot test.

I'll go and have a proper look at the Uppababy Vista, iCandy Peach and the Jools day I think. I think I'll rule out the Surf because of the small basket but it's so pretty!

I like stokke one! Xplore, seems to be smaller than others

Just in case it appeals, icandy are bringing out the Orange very shortly which is similar to the peach in terms of single/double capacity but means that the peach bundle is reduced in John Lewis. JL Oxford Street has all three of the ones you mentioned in store to try but not sure where you are based.

We have the iCandy Strawberry II (the peach felt like an awful lot of money at the time, and the Strawberry II is a little smaller making bus travel easier).

I had an emergency surprise c-section and I was so grateful to have a pram that was so manoeuvrable, when I could barely keep myself upright it was perfect as I could navigate the roads and parks with one feeble hand when required.

It also looks pretty neat (all black with a black nappy bag and now cositoes) it's a fine piece of machinery.

That having been said the resale value is almost nil (maybe a couple of hundred quid) whereas the Stokke ones hold their value. And it's not easy to collapse (I can only ever do it by fluke), the chassis is squite large so it wouldn't fit in the boot of a small car (e.g. Fiat 500) without removing the back wheels.

It's great for pavement/pathways, but would be hard work properly off road.

If I had my time again, I'd choose either the Strawberry II or the Uppababy Vista - largely because the latter has an inbuilt sunshield.

The new icandy should have a better canopy, I was looking at the Uppababy Vista for that reason too. Not easy to choose is it? I'm lucky that fitting in a small car boot isn't an issue for me.

Uppababy Cruz. All the way. Sturdy yet light. And mahussive basket.

It's the top rated pram on Which? I believe.

I have a silver cross wayfarer! I haven't used it because baby isn't born yet but it's utterly gorgeous! It's in Navy and I'm sure it's the last one in the country because I've been obsessive about getting it and I had to chase it across all the mothercares ect across the country.

Another vote for the uppababy vista here! Baby isn't here yet but from trying them all out extensively and looking at all the features it seemed the best option to me in that approximate price bracket. Icandy peach was a close second.

For your budget I'd definitely enjoy looking at icandy or Uppababy. We had an icandy apple and although it was a beast it could turn on a sixpence and was so easy to push even as DD got bigger. The Uppababy is gorgeous too.
Try putting something heavy in them when you go and have a play then compare how they push, there will be quite a difference between the different brands.

I have an icandy strawberry 2 and love it. I find folding it really easy, but couldn't fold the icandy Apple at all! Try lots out, we tried them out at the baby show but weren't quite ready to purchase, when we were we went to mothercare who let you try them in the boot of your car which is very helpful.

Had a push of my friend's Uppababy today and I think my mind is set! I particularly like the height of the handle and it's easily to steer!

Have a look at the Uppababy Cruz as well. The main difference is it is much lighter but not as good off road but ours is fine on grass. Have to tried lifting them?

I have a silver cross wayfarer and dont get me wrong its gorgeous... but i hate it its horrible to push! I made the mistake of not having a push round in the shop.

I wouldnt buy a silver cross again if im honest

You need to go in shop and try them. Had heart set on icandy but found it heavy and hard to manoeuvre. Bought uppababy vista and loved it apart from crap raincover
