Honest answers please - do my legs look fat in these leggings?? Not caved to mat clothes yet

So im 12 weeks today. I am now at the awkward stage of not wanting to wear jeans but not wanting to invest in mat jeans (scan monday) so im hanging on in leggings. I dont usually wear leggings in public as i hate my legs. And i mean HATE. So do they look dreadful? Im not after compliments, just honesty. In reality i want to know whether people at work will look at me funny (i usually stick to wide leg trousers there) thanks....

Btw i know theres a fashion thread but i never get much of a response so im being cheeky (sorry)

Your legs look fine!! I'd swap legs with you any day

I think that leggings aren't jeans. Buy some cheap ones in a size up and you can wear them afterwards too. Mat stuff only fits when there's a proper bump imo

I think you look fine!

Have you tried the hairband trick to do your jeans up if you don't feel confident in leggings?

Good luck with the scan btw.

I don't think they are smart enough for work. Grand for around the house or popping to the shops but too legging-y for work

I think with leggings, you need a longer top, and boots. I don't think people will look at you strangely though!

Your legs look like...legs! They are fine. Honesty if you look around you when you are out and about you will see all shapes and sizes of people wearing leggings. No-one will look twice at you.

Nope, your legs don't look fat.

If you feel unsure enough to post for opinions, then you'll probably not feel comfortable out in public in them. Depending on where you work, are they smart enough?

Are you able to get more wear from your usual trousers by using a looped hair band to extend them? That got me some extra weeks from mine!

Honestly, I think your legs look fine - great even - it's the slippers that make them look a bit odd imo, try putting your shoes on and see if you feel a bit more comfortable then? I only started wearing leggings because I was pregnant and didn't care if people thought I looked fat, and they were so comfy I'm still wearing them four years later Grin

I don't think people will look at you strangely, but they are very shape revealing. I'd wear a longer top, tunic length. I think with leggings people sometimes look like they have forgotten to put their skirt on.

Your legs look fine, but my rule, pregnant or not, is also leggings only if top fully covers bum (and potential camel toe - sorry to be crude)

Def do the hairband trick with a long vest to hide.

Ok so i think it sounds like i need a longer top. Thanks

Definitely wear a long top/dress over- if you just wear for work have black not the blue as they are very casual/lounging at home wear.
Another tip with leggings is to get them to sit above your ankle (if they long fold under) so they don't merge with your shoes/boots and look like thick tights. Also look a little less frumpy that way. Otherwise if worn with a top they can look a bit like you forgot to put a skirt on!

Ankle boots with a small heel also make them look better.

Leggings should always be under a long top or dresses imo. Leggings in place of jeans very rarely work and I speak as someone with thin legs.

It's nothing to do with you or your legs but I use leggings as a alternative to tights, why not get a nice pair of jeggings? Soft and stretchy but also flattering. Dotty Ps do nice ones and they are not too expensive.

Jellybabie3 · 11/03/2017 11:52

So jeggings are ok with a non tunic top? Just not leggings?

Leggings are fine-but as tights not as jeans. I would only wear them with dresses and skirts.

Agree with buster.....leggings very rarely look flattering and imo should only be worn as a substitute for thick tights-wear with a dress or long tunic only!!
