Probable miscarriage at 12 weeks

Despite a healthy scan last week I've just woken up to find my pjs wet and that I'm bleeding. I presume that I'm miscarrying.

Anyone have any experience of miscarriage management at 12 weeks? Will I have to let it run its course?

Will be my second miscarriage in a row. Not great for someone over 35.

Call OOH or whatever they're called.

I don't know what will happen at this stage but you definitely need medical assistance.

I hope you've got someone there in rl to support you.

So sorry to hear that. You could get yourself to A&E now but there is probably nothing they can do until the EPAC opens in the morning. I had two miscarriages at 12 weeks BUT with DS2 I also woke up in the middle of the night with a massive bleed in week 12 so assumed the worst and it was all ok in the end. Best of luck, keep us posted xxxxx

Thanks guys. I'll call the GP in the morning for a referral to EPAU. Then at least we will know what's what.

We were just beginning to relax about it and plan ahead after being so cautious. Not looking forward to telling my husband, he will be so sad. Think a large glass of wine may be on the cards tonight. Ah bollocks.

Unless you're bleeding very heavily or in unbearable pain I wouldn't go to A&E as there's nothing they can do. Does your local hospital have an Early Pregnancy Assessment Unit? That's where I went for both of my miscarriages. In my area you can ring direct and get an appointment-they only scan in the mornings. You may need a GP referral though.
I would look on your local hospital's website and see if there's any info.
Bleeding doesn't always mean a MC. Bleeding when pregnant is a horribly frightening experience and I'm sorry you're going through this. I would fear the worst and hope for the best.
I had 2 MCs in a row ttc #2. I'm 39 and am now 35 weeks pregnant, so even if the worst does happen, don't give up hope. Flowers

Thanks MyCat. There's still a wee bit of hope but fearing the worst.

Good to hear your positive story though. And hope its not the bump that's waking you up at this time of night. Good luck when the wee one makes their appearance x

Leave the wine just yet.

I bled bright red and soaked through my pj bottoms in seconds at 13 weeks with my son. I continued to bleed 7 weeks but he is here.

You could have a subchorionic bleed (a pocket of blood in the womb )

Fingers crossed for you

I had a huge bleed at 14 weeks with DD2 we'd had a healthy scan the week before and started to relax. It was all fine in the end no explanation but she's sat next to me now and is totally fine.

Scan today showed healthy wee one in there, much to my surprise and relief. Going to take things one day at a time for next few weeks, and cross fingers for the next few months. Thanks for your kind words and support last night, it did help in in the middle of the night xx

hello, hope it's ok to jump onto this feed.

After over a year of ttc #1 we finally got a positive result in November last year. Unfortunately a week later I had a big bleed, went to OOH's GP and they advised me to have blood tests, after a week of HCG bloods and still constant brown spotting I was finally referred to the EPAU, l had a scan and unfortunately it confirmed that we had a gestation sac but it was empty and also revealed I had a Bicornuate Uterus. the next week I had to have another scan to see if it had vacated it self, it hadn't. I was told my only option was to have a medically induced miscarriage due to my body not naturally doing the job.

I am now pleased to say I am pregnant again, because of my uterus I had a scan two weeks ago and saw a healthy heartbeat, they aged my foetus at 8weeks. I am now 9+5 and have mild/dull cramps on my left side and this morning had brown discharge when i wiped. Could it be possible I'm having a miscarriage???

I don't have my first midwife appointment till Wednesday and the EPAU discharged me after seeing a healthy heartbeat. I'm so scared if I'm honest.
