Hi there, I wondered if anyone could help me and I don't want to sound stupid!

I am 16 weeks pregnant I keep getting terrible headaches and my eyes keep going blurry I am also extremely knackered, falling asleep at 7 each night.

Is this normal? Or am I over reacting?

I think it's normal. I have headaches every single day - usually set off by our dog who snores so loudly it wakes up the whole house if she isn't downstairs. Even when she is, you can faintly hear her. It's constant - she snores all the time aside from eating. If she is awake she will make eye contact with you and snore.

Since I can't make her stop, I just take some pain killers. It sometimes will help.

As far as fatigue - I've gotten a little better now I'm at 16 weeks, but I still go to bed very early. If you can, try to power nap during the day for 45 minutes here or there. It helps me a lot.

Fingers crossed you feel better!

See I've always struggled with headaches but these are almost unbearable and make me ridiculously dizzy too, then my eye sight goes funny and I feel faint. Which isn't too great when at work!

I can't take naps during the day either as I work full time :(

Hi First sorry you are not feeling great - I am 17 weeks atm with DC2 and am on to the headaches stage - it's rubbish. I had them at the same time with DC1 but thankfully, they went as quickly as they came at around 18 weeks. Hopefully our headaches will go soon!

Can you discuss it with your midwife? They should be able to give you some advice and reassurance.

I have found that drinking gallons of water helps some days, other days not so much. I think it is just hormones rather than dehydration with me... I have also taken paracetamol on the occasions when the headache is bad enough to stop me sleeping.

I am sure you know all of this already but after 20 weeks, any headaches and vision disturbance should be investigated as soon as possible via your maternity unit or hospital to make sure that there is no risk of preeclampsia.

Hope you are soon feeling better!

Please speak to your doctor about the headaches. You may have pregnancy related migraine. Firstly, it must be really uncomfortable for you and difficult to function, secondly it's always worth getting something out of the usual checked out

Your eyesight changes when you're pregnant. I used to go very blurry and totally lose my sight, Patric with my last pregnancy. A real nuisance but stopped when I had the baby

The fatigue was awful, I barely existed for 20weeks! Anything you are worried about always mention to the midwife. They never mind and it is always better to be on the safe side.
