Help! DP has started calling our baby 'shrimpy' and I hate it. I need a new name asap before it sticks!! Bean is out (still call DS2 bean as a nickname today) as is peanut (DS1 calls his private parts his peanuts)!!

Please help me come up with a better name! TIA

Bumps don't need names. Do they?

Mine was worm, because he was such a wriggler, my friends spider for the same reason she reckoned he had at least eight legs kicking away in her tum.

We have a spud! Couldn't face anything other than chips and pasta whilst dealing with the morning sickness so something potato related seamed appropriate!

Although I'm not pg, that was what we called the bump when I was.

Ours is Buddy. Mostly because I love Elf and am immature as fuck.

Thing. Usually prefixed by a swear word.

I call it pebble. It's the first name that I thought of so stuck 😊

I cringe at bump names now but when I was pregnant we had one and I look back on it with shame!

DC1 was Poppy as it was a poppy seed size when we first found out I was pregnant and i was completely convinced it was a girl (it was!). Currently pregnant with DC2 and the poor thing doesn't have a nickname, partly because having time to sit and ponder the joys of pregnancy is non-existent, what with running around after a rambunctious toddler and working full time! Pregnancy 2 has been vey different!

Mine have been: Dave, Squiggle, Bumpy, Betty and currently Beany Baby.
Betty isn't the baby's name but our 4yo ds was adamant it was going to be a boy and must be called Betty (even after we knew she was a girl)

Didn't name my first. Second was Bubs. It was rarely used once born.

Squishy (inspired by Dory and the jellyfish in Finding Nemo).

We're now starting to discuss baby names and I'm finding it very weird to think of the baby as having any of the names we're considering because I'm so used to Squishy now Grin

thanks everyone!! I just know DP will use the nickname after baby is born too so I cannot bear the thought of shrimpy sticking around lol. I love poppy as it was poppy seed size when I found out too - will try and make that one stick! I'm hoping for a girl too :) Bubble is also very cute! And Buddy made me laugh.

No, bumps don't need names but it's fun and we name them cos it feels a bit more personal each time. To each their own!

Beefy - she's a result of drinking a lot of beefeater gin! (Won't tell her that though when older) and as it turns out she is a substantial baby so quite fitting!

Mine is pip as it was the size on an apple pip when we found out! Nice as we dont know boy or girl yet and seems unisex. My DH also plans on using it after they are born which I am less keen on!
