Help! Has anyone had false BFP?

I hadon't a BFP on the 9th of this month. I tested again on the 11th and 12th and got BFN with clearblue and Firstresponse. I got my postive with lloyds brand. I got my blood drawn on the 13th to test for hCG levels. I tried two more tests from lloyds and got more negatives on the 14th.

I read about the "hook effect" and how women where diluting their pee with water. On the 16th I tried diluting my urine half water and got a BFP on both tests (again lloyds brand). On the 17th I went to see my GP to get my blood results and they came back negative!!! I'm soooo confused. The GP didn't have an answer to why I would get a positive HPT but said blood is always right. Ifor I where pregnant I could be either 7w 5day or 3w. I did bleed 5 days before getting my first positive HPT.

PLEASE I need people's opinion and stories if I'm crazy to think I could still be pregnant?

Some pregnancy tests even have a faint line when you test with pure tapwater. I like the digital ones where it tells you "pregnant" or "not pregnant". Another possibility is that you were pregnant but it stopped growing. Or you are pregnant but it is growin very slowly (not a good sign and high chance of miscarriage).

After the egg implant it will start producing HCG. The urine tests test HCG in urine above a certain amount. The blood shows ANY HCG in your blood. This is why a blood test is more accurate. You always have some HCG in your body.

I hope you get a BFP soon.

Thank you chinny for your response. It's weird because I wouldn't believe tap water would create a line? I know evap lines exist but these lines have tint colour and came up before 5 minutes. The tests I used morning urine I kept and no lines ever showed up so I know that I can't be getting false positive because if the time lapse. It's frustrating because I read on forums if women claiming to get negative hpt and blood tests but by 15 weeks getting positive. I don't believe what people post because I need proof in some way. Imy eager to know because I have anot appointment to get steroid injections for a condition I have next week and I don't want to harm my fetus.

With my DS I had a BFP once and never retested just waited for my private scan at 8weeks. I guess I should just accept the blood result as it read 2 hCG (negative)

Your picture on the right looks very evap line like (grey). If your HCG is less than 5 (I think is the number) on blood tests unfortunately you're not pregnant.

I got a fake BFP once on a test. Can't remember what type.

I knew for a fact I wasn't pregnant but found an old out of date test so peed on it for a laugh.

Check the date on the Lloyd's tests?
Oh and buy the wee test strips online. Much less expensive than bigger brands and very accurate. I got bfp with those maybe 4 days before my period was due when pg with my boys. But then I'm SUPER hormonal and knew i was pregnant immediately with both. I've actually had 4 pregnancies and KNEW straight away with 3 of them.

I hope you get a bfp soon.

Thank you BiggerBoat. I figured it had to be the lloyds brand that are faulty. I think that must mean I was never pregnant rather than a chemical pregnancy. Very irritating considering my partner didn't want a child and he had a bad work week not sure if I was or not. I wish I had never done those lloyds tests! I did originally buy cheap ones off of Amazon but didn't trust them so I bought those lloyds and got that positive. All this stress could have been prevented. I would love to have another child but I'm not in any rush.

Sadly I have had false BFPs on all different tests. The worst are those Internet Cheapy strip tests. I could make them give me a feint second line with tap water.

Your partner doesn't want a child and you are actively trying?

No we are not actively trying. It was a possibility from on night back on the 7th of January and maybe possibly on the 30th. He well knew there was a risk and I would never try to deceive my partner. He wants kids but not at this moment.
