Reduced movements or over thinking it?

So I'm 21 weeks, first baby. I only really started feeling little one about a week ago (from about 18 weeks there were a few little flutters but nothing significant) but still no pattern to movement. Until 2 days ago I'd feel a few movements in the morning, lunchtime and when I went to bed, especially when lying on my right. But yesterday I hardly had anything, a few little feelings but nothing concrete, and today I haven't really felt her. Is this because it's still early and there's no set pattern yet? It definitely feels like I've felt her less yesterday and today but I think I might be over worrying. When do they recommend you monitor movement? Is it 24 weeks? I went to circuit training on Tuesday eve and noticed it since then and am now worrying that I over did it...but probably first time mum worries!

Contact your midwife and see what they say. Have you tried lying down and having a cold sugary drink, like Coke or Lucozade?

You are meant to monitor movement from 28 weeks. i would go for days without feeling anything at 21 weeks. However maybe call your midwife for reassurance.

I don't feel anything regularly enough yet to have a pattern, 20+3

I didn't feel movement really until 25+. But for me a sugary drink like San pellegrino lemon (baby has expensive tastes!) and lying on my left side for an hour wakes the baby up.

Call your MW if you're worried but she will probably say it's too early for a movement pattern.

There is actually no scientific reason why a sugary drink would wake the baby.....

Is there not? Interesting. Why do midwives recommend it then, I wonder?

My midwives have recommended either very hot or very cold drinks - never heard about sugary drinks? Surely that takes ages to pass through placenta?

Think I'm just over worrying - as you say I'm only 21 weeks so won't have any set pattern yet. She must have just been more active for a few days and now having a few lay days ha! Thank you all x
