This is DC2 and I feel like a newbie sometimes as my son is 6 so been a while but when do you start preparing things? I have a few things bought, moses basket Cot etc but when should you start building and preparing things? I'm very organised, maybe a bit too much Blush and I like to be prepared but I don't want to be too early if that makes sense?

We needed to spread the cost, so starting buying bits and bobs after the 12 week scan. After 20 week scan we felt we could buy the bigger items. Currently 33 weeks and bought some second hand nursery furniture this week. Will set everything up in mat leave, plus do hospital bags.

Just had 20week scan with our first and now feel i need to get sorted on some purchases e.g. travel system. We'll be away quite a bit around 35weeks and i want everything sorted including hospital bag and carseat fitted by then

I'm 32 weeks and we started getting things ready at about 27 weeks. Nusery's pretty much done and hospital bags are packed. I'm starting to feel uncomfortably large so pleased we've been organised.

I am 22 weeks and haven't bought anything yet. This is dc4 and will need to buy everything apart from the cot.
I think personally for us, we will start buying everything around 30/32 weeks. Otherwise it's hanging around for ages.
I have gone overdue 3 times though, so i feel I've probably got extra time Smile

I hit the xmas sales when I was only 11 weeks as I wanted to take advantage of the savings; bought all the nursery furniture and milk stuff etc. Now keeping eye on the pram and car seat we like to see if it goes in sale. 😊 can never be too organised, just do what's best for you.

How many weeks are you colourful.?
I'm 23 weeks and we have already ordered the pram and have most of the baby clothes.
The cot we had from our previous baby but I aim to rebuild it at around 32 weeks before I get too large.

I didn't to have too much stuff too soon but now I'm 38weeks I feel massive and have spd so can't get around as well as I could before. I would say just get it done when you can so if anything happens later on or you struggle you won't have to worry. Some people get out on bed rest so best just to sort it asap I think. If you have a room for the nursery even better.

I'm 18+1, I have bought the cot and moses basket, Steriliser and baby swing...I have ordered the pram and car seat, I was suffering from HG so I found ordering baby bits kept me focused on the positives x

Colourful snap! On both HG and 18+1. I have been pretty depressed with being so sick so apart from some very cute baby grows this week I haven't got anything. DH is adament we cant get anything until 20 week scan, which for us is 21+2 so it feels a long wait. I am organised like you too so feel it will happen all at once post scan!

Nothing wrong with being organised! I don't think you can be too organised when you're having a baby anyway Smile

It's something nice to do if you have been suffering with HG. Hope it's better now.

to be fair, I nearly bought the pram/ travel system yesterday at 20+2 but as DH says, where does it go for 4 months?!?! However, once the single bed is back in bean's room, things can be stacked neatly up there.

And I want him to do his techy faff about with the in store model where he checks the fold/ convinces me the wheels are reasonable etc.And since mothercare didn't bother to take the security tag out of the swimsuit yesterday, I have to go back anyway.

I'm waiting for his colleague to check with his wife that it really is ok to give us their cot etc and changing table will come back with us when we go see B and S IL in a couple of weeks, since they want rid!

Moses basket will follow when nephew 2 finishes with it (he's 10 days old so a wee while yet)

Umming and ahhing about pumps/ bottles etc as I think i'd like DH to be able to do some feeds once we get past the 'figuring out breastfeeding' stage.

Have enough clothes to get us started.

So, a lot of things are thought about, even if not actually bought.

Have a deadline of about 34 weeks since we're away 2 weekends in a row then for weddings and I don't want to take chances by not having the car seat/ hospital bag etc when we're 3 hours away from home
