Hi all,

Would really appreciate hearing some good experiences from people on here.

Got positive test on Saturday- was a bit of a surprise as I wasn't sure if my period had arrived- spotting for about a week before.

Took many a test and all positive.

But the spotting hasn't gone away. It's not a lot -nothing on a pad or on my pants but only when I wipe. Can be anything from brown to pink with the odd red thrown in the mix sometimes. Usually fin the morning then slowly lessens until there is nothing when I wipe at night.

I know it can happen and the advice is not to worry unless there is a lot of blood- which there isn't.

Not really had cramping just a weird "feeling" which could well be normal from what I have read.

I need to stop googling but this is my first and much wanted and am pretty terrified.

Have an early scan booked for a couple of weeks time when I will be 7+2.

Anyone going through something similar now or had experience of this in the past and gone on to have a healthy pregnancy??

Would love to hear from you.

Thanks for reading. Smile

I'm 5 + 4 and I had exactly the same as you from when I first took the pregnancy test (around 4 weeks) until a couple of days ago. It seems to have stopped now and a lot of advice I've heard from other women (during my mild panic) was that it was implantation bleeding and not to panic.

Anyway not sure if that helps but we're in the same boat Smile

I had this at 5-6 weeks pregnant, she's 9 weeks old now. I think it's not an issue unless bright red. I spent a lot of time lying on my left, not sure if it did anything but made me feel as though I was doing something to help

Good luck for the scan.

I definitely understand the mild panic. Google and the internet in general is a terrible place when you're panicking!!

It's good to know that other people go through the same thing.

I'm trying to focus on the good stuff I read and. It the bad but am a born worrier Confused

Hello OP I had this with my last pregnancy - although I was a little further along than you, between 7 and 8 weeks iirc - and as i'd had a MMC before DD1 was born I was sent off for an early scan, which showed two very strong little heart beats. Pregnancy continued no problems at all, twins are now strapping 8 year olds.

Best of luck, all fingers crossed for you.

I had about 10 days of spotting - exactly as you describe. I'm now 18 weeks. It's always a worry seeing blood but chances are everything will be fine. It's a good idea to have an early scan as it means there's less time to wait and a scan any earlier won't tell you anything. Good luck!

Airforsharon and Seahawk80 thank you so much. Good to hear positive stories. I was having a mini breakdown this morning.

It's been going on for 2 weeks now called EPU and they said too early to do anything. I'm waiting for my Midwife referral to come through then will discuss with them some more as well. Scary times.

Thanks again SmileSmile

sj3rram definitely, it's nice to be able to talk to people who are at the same stage Smile

I had a MC in October when I was 5 + 5 so I'm feeling a bit nervous, which I'm sure is normal!

I had an early scan at 5 weeks as I was unsure of my dates. They really couldn't tell me anything except it looks ok now but come back in 2 weeks. The waiting game is really hard. I hope that you get good news.

I had this, my pregnancy progressed completely fine and I now have a 16month old DD. In my case the bleeding lasted 7 days and got fairly heavy.

I had a scan at 5 weeks and the nurse said the bleeding was probably prolonged implantation bleeding, which can happen if a large blood vessel is knocked during the implantation phase. The bleeding can be heavier and it can last longer than normal implantation bleeding.

It's so nerve wracking waiting for the scan though, hope you manage to switch off from the anxiety a bit xx

Thanks for all the comments guys. Really finding it so useful.

Bleeding turned more red and heavy today just after I had one strong cramp so worrying even more now. Spoke to EPU who said go to the docs and get my blood tested and then again in a couple of days.

So booked in tomorrow for the first lot of bloods 🙁

Hey ladies.

So I went for some bloods on Friday and yesterday and got the results today which shows they've nearly double which I'm told is a good sign!!

Still bleeding but taking the bloods as reassurance and being cautiously optimistic for now. Early scan next week so hopefully that will put my mind at ease even more.

Hope you're all well.

Great news! When is your scan? Is the bleeding only when you wipe? I had that for what felt like forever and am currently coming up to my 20 week scan next week! The worry never really goes though - I'm still
Nervous!

Hi seahawk apart from the odd spot on a pad it is only when I wipe but it is always red now it seems. 😔

But taking the hcg levels rising as good news and hoping for best. Scan is next Thursday 😬😬

Hi,
I wanted to share with you my response to a previous post some months ago which will hopefully set your mind at ease!
(Update: I am now fully term (39weeks +3) with a very healthy baby which I can't wait to meet!!!!

I was in exactly the same situation, and had spotting at around 7 weeks with mild cramp. It's first baby so OH and I were really worried and called NHS 24, told to just wait and see. 24 hours later, more pain, more bleeding, almost like AF.

Called NHS 24 again who told me i had to go for an emergency scan. Went to our emergency doctor at 1am on a Saturday morning to be told, very casually, that it's a threatened miscarriage and we need to go for an emergency scan at a A&E about an hour away. Heartbroken, My husband and I drove in tears to the A&E. We arrived to speak to a triage nurse who told us it was completely normal to have light bleeding and that it is your body's way of "clearing out".
(Also found out scans only happened Mon-Fri) so we were booked in for a scan on Monday and after a long weekend my husband saw our wonderful little baby. The size of a grain of rice with a healthy little flicker on the screen of our baby's heart.

Ever since then it seems baby has done everything in its power to let me know it's there! Terrible morning sickness, Nausea, Cramps and all the other wonderful things your body does.... I've learned to appreciate it all as I see it as baby's way of giving me a thumbs up that it's still there and that it's ok!

OP I'm sure you will!

Spotting is completely normal, just quite frightening!
I would say if you are worried about anything don't sit and stress, it's always better to get checked to put your mind at ease if nothing else! Flowers good luck x

I had the same as you early on, I remember it was the longest 2 weeks of my life waiting for that scan so I know how you feel. Try to plan something to look forward to each day even if it's just something nice for lunch or calling a friend.

I'll be thinking of you next week. It looks good with the blood results and I spotted right up to the second scan so fx you'll be fine. I had the rather horrible experience of them saying that there hadn't been any progress and starting to discuss options of what would happen next and then they found the baby! The poor doctor was mortified and said it had never happened before but I was just relieved it was all ok!
