Anyone use an inhaler?

I've been prescribed an inhaler as I've been wheezing a lot. It's a salbutamol one. Anyone else use one? I assume they're safe in pregnancy.

Yes, I have one. I also used one all the way through my pregnancy with ds, particularly in the first trimester when pregnancy really aggravated my asthma symptoms; really common apparently!

I had an asthma review in pregnancy and they specifically checked which inhalers I could have - salbutamol is fine. I used to have a turbohaler before (you'd know if you had one, they're not especially common) and they said they'd prefer me to have a normal one because it's considered the safest.

That's great, thank you. I assumed it would get ok, but just very cautious/anxious at the moment.

I was exactly the same, don't worry! I remember being really reassured when the asthma nurse got out a little book and looked it up in there to see if it was okay in pregnancy then even phoned through to a doctor to double check.

Yep. I've got asthma and have continued with the symbicort and salbutamol when needed.
Asthma nurse is happy with this and said asthma seems to either get far better or much worse in pregnancy. Another joyful side effect!

I have asthma and pregnancy has made it much worse. I take both the brown and the blue one. The consultant has assured me it is safe and better for the baby than me having an asthma attack. I only take the brown one once a day now.
